quote:
ORIGINAL: Owner59 Most of the extreme rightists like Sen. frothy and fox news have turned on the Pope, because the Pope is following the bible. There is a huge difference between "fans" of Jesus and followers of Jesus. Fans say they love Jesus and then act like sarah palin. Followers feed the poor and heal the sick, house the homeless and cloth the naked, like liberals do. that's fascinating---so you have a problem with people "who think they know someone else`s faith better" and yet you think its okay to criticize sarah palin, who is a believer, because she doesn't act in ways you think she should. you should be interested in knowing (except for that you probably wont be) that conservatives give more money and time to the causes you are mentioning than do liberals, head and shoulders over actually. liberals are more into the government doing the work for them. and if you didn't have such partisan blinders on, you might see that conservative government done rightly still helps the poor, but does so in a way that ideally lifts them out of poverty, rather then enslaves them in it. never minding that you didn't provide evidence for your assertion (especially the "because the pope is following the bible" part), fox news is not a monolithic organization such that you can rightly or even remotely say it has "turned on the pope." even one or two of the online personalities disagreeing with or actually criticizing part of the pope's actions or agenda constitute a "turning." and what "extreme rightists" exactly? since its "most" who are turning on the pope, they should be easy to find. while im at it---what is an "extreme rightist?" what are his actual codified social/political views? not some generic hogwash like "they hate gays, black and the poor and they live in the back pockets of corporate America", but their actual stated positions.
