ORIGINAL: Owner59 The latest from the lunatic fringe..... http://www.scpr.org/programs/take-two/2014/10/06/39699/make-your-own-assault-rifle-at-home-with-the-ghost/ Unregistered, un traceable ,un known ,automatic assault riffles are now a thing..... How many LEOs, guards and innocent victims will we lose b/c of them. http://motherboard.vice.com/read/the-device-that-automatically-manufactures-untraceable-metal-guns These are real guns, that can be made full auto that shoot real bullets. Every single part accept the receiver can legally be bought. The receiver blanks, that are 80% finished and therefore don`t require a serial number, are legal to buy. And so are the milling machines. What can go wrong? From your first link:quote:
Where does California law stand on this? California and federal law allow these guns to be made. Homemade guns are nothing new but this kind of gunsmithing has traditionally required considerable expertise and expensive equipment. California lawmakers recently tried to crack down on the manufacturer of these ghost guns, but Jerry Brown vetoed the law, saying requiring these homemade guns to have a serial number wouldn't likely reduce gun violence. Is Gov. Jerry Brown (Democrat), who vetoed the law, on the "lunatic fringe," too? The ability of any person (with $1200 +materials) to manufacture a gun isn't a good idea, imo. I prefer more stringent background checks than just money. Criminals and crazies don't buy guns through legal channels and they sure don't spend 1200 plus ot make a ghost gun. So why would "background checks" fix this and what exactly is the problem, that criminals would not have guns if we had more stringent background checks or that crazies will also be caught with these, why, crazies will not show up with anything bad on a background check and criminals know they will get caught so they buy illegally. So why does tis thread exist?
