So why is the IRS cutting customer service and enforcement?

Recall all those conservatives who were butt hurt last year because they thought they were singled out for audits by some conspiracy by the Obama administration? They had to switch resources from 'helping Americans with tax filings' to 'dealing with stupid asshole conservatives that live in a fantasy world'.

I like the subtle attack on giving IRS employees bonuses and what unions might be doing. Folks in the IRS take...ALOT....of shit, for doing a thankless task. Its a job, it pays well. Most of them do not get involved in the politics of it. They are there to make sure the rules are followed, and each person is taxed what they owe (or refunded). An incentive for employees to do well, even under pressure, is often rewarded with a bonus in private sectors; why not public? Likewise if those people wish to be in a union, that's their right under the 1st amendment. Do you have a problem with US Citizens exercising their 1st amendment rights with the government?

I also find amusing the author is bashing one 'Quinn Emanuel'. A legal company hired by the IRS to handle issues with Microsoft. Stating that these people would be violating the law. Perhaps the author should get an education on the legal system before looking like a moron. Lawyers can not speak about anything regarding their client, told in confidence unless allowed by their client. Its one of those 'basic concepts' one learns in K-12. That if the client states they are guilty of killing someone, the lawyer can not state that....unless....the client allows them to do such a thing. In public or a court room! Also, a Non-Disclosure Form would be used to further prevent the company from using information obtain in their dealings with the IRS for private gain (or to give to someone else in the political world).

$60 million for employee bonuses, after the other scandals hit the news. They also used $20 million for union activities, at a time they are slashing taxpayer assistance

You can't use the Washington TImes or really the Washington Examiner as a source. Please try to use adult, journalistic sources.

Yeah, Sun Myung Moons organization is rightwing rabid propaganda. There was indeed less customer service for two reasons, cuts in funding, making less reps and less time, and all the dealings with proving on the tax form that you have insurance, taking up more time than before.

"Use our far left sources instead'

Fuck that stupidity, they dont report on anything unfavorable to the administration or their crony underling fascist bastards

mnottertail -> RE: Latest IRS Scandal (4/23/2015 10:19:54 AM)

why is it unfavorable to the administration that the cuts are coming from the rabid right wing that are bent on bankrupting this country and giving it to China?

According to an article in today's Chicago Tribune, the IRS budget has been cut by $1.2 billion dollars since 2010.

They were wasting vast sums of money partying in Vegas and making irrelevant videos, illegally targeting conservative groups for harassment, and giving large bonuses to those who took the lead going after conservatives, that kind of thing. So for revenge they diverted money that should be used for taxpayer assistance to more large bonuses for their pompous asses, and even to pay for union activity

The Washington Examiner is exponentially better than your "addictnginfo.com"

Perhaps, if they spent less time investigating groups with "Patriot" in the name, they'd have had more time to do their fucking jobs.

I thought Clinton was giving the country to China? Republicans usually try to give it to the Saudis.

MrRodgers -> RE: Latest IRS Scandal (4/23/2015 9:06:12 PM)

Wait a minute. If there have been budget cuts and they are unable to do their job as well and as comprehensively as before...why do they get ANY bonuses at all ?

Another aspect of how the private sector in particular and the people at large...hate the fed govt.

epiphiny43 -> RE: Latest IRS Scandal (4/24/2015 2:16:27 AM)

The BUREAUCRACY is performing worse for the cuts. The INDIVIDUALS are getting bonuses for doing Better jobs within the existing limitations. Or so it normally works when retention of skills is essential to a group's function.

KenDckey -> RE: Latest IRS Scandal (4/24/2015 6:13:15 AM)

If there were budget cuts, can someone please explain 2 things

a. Why are the taxpayers paying bonus money to it's workers?

b. Why are the tax cuts not coming from these funds?

Repeat after me, Ken...cannot cut the bonus funds...or the funds for Vegas parties...or the funds to destroy emails...or the funds to investigate conservative groups...OR to help unions...ONLY funds to do their legitimate jobs

Unfortunately, they have to examine any issue that is out of order, irrelevant of the name. If fifty right-wing organizations have 'heritage', 'patriot', 'american', or '2nd amendment'.....

....They'll get investigated if it looks like their records are incorrect. There were plenty of liberal groups that got investigated; funny how conservatives and libertarians leave that bit of FACT out of their 'arguments'.....
