Mathematics not a requirement in the Tea Party - 3/26/2015 2:39:03 PM

With all the talk about education and Common Core, its a good idea that our role models in public office known how to handle mathematics, right? Since they are often the guys that decide on the federal budget. Unfortunately we have one less person whom should not be taken seriously again:

Dallas Rep. Pete Sessions recently claimed:

"If you just do simple multiplication, 12 million into $108 billion, we’re talking literally every single recipient would be costing this government more than $5 million per person for their insurance,” said Sessions, chairman of the House Rules Committee."

$108 Billion divided by 12 million, is $9,000.....

In a time when Republicans and Tea Partiers are getting laughed at for being stupid and unwise; this doesn't help their case. Shouldn't conservatives and libertarians demand more from their elected officials? To sound more intelligent and educated than a Common Core dropout from Texas?

Perhaps the GOP/TP should hire some actual mathematicians and accountants. Failing that, use a calculator. They come with every smartphone and computer these days!

Well common core is a pretty much 'republican' governors deal from start to finish. Its why Johnny can't add.

I live how you find ways to deflect...you know as well as I do that there's speeches that Democrats have made that have the same kinds of mistakes.

Surely you know that with most of these politicians, the error is to be found with the speechwriter?

It's not as if a campaign trail is a taxing endeavor,seeing folks sleep like four hours a day and all.
In no way would that lead to some errors while talking for twenty hours a day

If you have ever given a speech before the open public, you would know to check through and read everything before hand. Only a fool reads the stuff they are handed and have not checked prior to the actual speech. Its also common sense at play here. If it seems REALLY wild to say; wouldn't that clue you in to check and recheck all the facts? Just to make sure?

You cant answer questions intelligently nor honestly. That's why its so much fun to debate things with you! You ALREADY live in fantasy land. What your seeing is that place most of us live in called reality. In reality, people answer each other's questions intelligently and honestly. In fantasy land, you answer how you want, irrelevant of anyone or anything else.
