Can what ? Get grain state votes and wall street money from this dirty, costly, water-wasting, carbon rich, carbon sink reducing, impoverishing, starving, profiteering bio-fuel mandate that EPA corruption mandates ? The Obama Administration clings to ethanol mandates, backing them despite growing evidence that they increase world hunger and mortality, and harm the environment. As the Wall Street Journal noted, in October 2011, the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Action Aid petitioned the EPA to review the so-called renewable fuel standard that mandates that 13.8 billion gallons of corn ethanol be blended into the gasoline supply next year. The free-market think tank and global hunger charity argued that the EPA’s technical regulations implementing the mandate did not meet “basic standards of quality” [since] EPA failed to consider multiple peer-reviewed studies documenting the link between ethanol and world hunger in its public health literature review, as required by law. That includes one paper that concludes that biofuel mandates are responsible for at least 192,000 premature deaths every year. Overall more people die from chronic hunger world-wide than malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS combined. EPA disregarded this evidence, and denied the petition after a fourteenth-month delay. HERE Not only does the EPA corruptly mandate this crap but congress throws in a 30 cent a gal. subsidy to growers but also slaps a 51 cent a gal. tariff on foreign ethanol aimed mostly at Brazil because they kick American producer's ass in manufacturing it using sugar. Then add in the fact that ethanol is killing our cars. HERE

The Wall Street Journal only refers to a petition to EPA originated by the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Action Aid, free market think tank and s global hunger charity. When I come the Internet for information and at the various forums, I do not go after the messenger. I concentrate on the message and there are several sources for research on the 'Big Ethanol Scam.'

The health insurance companies will always remember the mandated and subsidized windfall profits from the ACA, otherwise known as ObamaCare. That's its reason for being...and the subsidies.

Gad, the ethanol addition to octane based fuel just makes the fuel more inefficient. Better to use the ethanol for fabricating cetane based fuel from lipid waste. To be more colloquial; ethanol in gasoline makes the engine less efficient. Using ethanol to make bio-diesel from waste cooking grease helps clean up landfills by an efficient recycling of waste material.

Ethanol is one of the biggest scams big Agra has ever forced on the US. Not only is it immoral to grow food to run our cars, it has less energy than gasoline. That means you must use more of it to travel the same distance.
