I will give my experience here. And see if it helps. Master lived in California and I went to visit Him 1 time in 3 years. He bought my plane ticket. Then after 2.5 years later Wwe decided He would move here. Cheaper than California and I had kids that I would not leave. He paid for me a plane ticket out there then Wwe packed a UHAUL (which I don't recommend) UHAUL was a bad experience, we won't go there. Anyhow, Wwe drove back here together with the car on a trailer on the back of the truck. It was quite expensive to do but it was managed. Master paid for the whole trip. I just had to have a home ready for Master to come too. So maybe Oone of Yyou could go to her and help her back here? then you don't have to worry about sending money and all that. You will be in control from the beginning of the trip. rose442

You and she definitely need a backup plan. Provisions for if it doesn't work out...whatever...BEFORE anything happens.

Send traveler's checks to the mid point hotel. If cold feet are gotten, they can be retrieved.

Lets look at this from a truckers point of view. 2400/3 = 800/day thats a long haul and if your not used to it even longer solo, you could be asking for a lot there. Whats the farthest he/she has ever drove at one time? How is he/she at reading a map and reading road signs? What are her tires like? The car is 2 years old, do they still have good tread or is there going to be flats along the way? Even with good tires there could be blowouts. How are the belts, hoses and fluids? how much stuff has to be hauled in the car? What if theres bad weather to slow you down, How many major citys do you have to go through that could have back ups? The key to making 800/day is keeping that left door closed! My 2 cents WWS Edited to add You live in NE Ohio depending on what way they come from there could be tolls to pay. And don't forget this is the season of road construction.

From personal experience, this is a very bad idea. You have no idea what this person will really be like in any way. She may seem just fine and dandy over a computer or phone but people change when confronted face to face with reality. Be smart about this. Number one, don't send money for her to come see you. If she wants this as much as you do then she should be spending money to get this accomplished as well. number two, don't make this a permenant thing straight off. Let her come to you and spend some time in her role in the home. Then have her decide if this is something she really wants to go through with.
