I guess the stupidity of random violence still reigns over eastern Europe and the thought that it was a military plane makes no difference. Here Time for the Ukrainian govt. take the Russian separatists out and even with western assistance if necessary. One American dead as well as 297 others including researchers that were traveling to the 20th International AIDS conference in Melbourne was among those on the flight.

Brilliant, let's start a war with Russia, on their turf no less. How has that gone for everybody else that's ever tried it? You do realize that Russia is a nuclear power? And not the cute kind that can produce a couple suitcase bombs, maybe something aircraft deliverable. No, Russia has ICBMs and nuclear submarines armed with enough warheads to make the entire surface of the Earth uninhabitable for a century. Here's an idea, how about the state department stop destabilizing democratically elected governments and starting these shit storms in the first place. Crazy, I know.

From what I'm reading Putin is talking peace but playing a proxy war. An underlying problem in Russia is the state news agencies stoking up pro Russian sentiment and slanting the facts. A lot of people are relying on bad information there. I do not see how outside powers can practically intervene in this conflict. What exactly are you suggesting?
