BTW... if you have a smart TV or an Xbox, you can stream stuff from your computer to the big screen.
And if you don't, a $6 generic hdmi cable from amazon will take you where you need to go. You can hook up a desktop, laptop, tablet, even a smartphone.

I've not had cable tv for well over 10 years. What I did was fire up a spare computer to both tvs in my house one in the den the other in my bedroom. I give my neighbor 20 bucks a month for wireless <plenty fast enuff>. I use netflix and hulu. Some ppl might use TPB or any other torrent site to download movies, books, tv shows and whatnot.
I have a digital antenna to watch local programing tho I can't remember the last time I did that. Most of the PBS shows you can stream the next day. <which is why I hooked the antenna up>. Why a CPU you ask? something about playing a game or reading a e book on a 50 screen. My home office has 2 24 in screens.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing! BadOne

My buddy has a computer set up as a movie server. As soon as the netflix envelope arrives he rips them to the hard drive.

We had hulu and netflix only for a while.
But boyfriend missed his sports. So we got TV back.

Well, 36 hours without cable and I am realizing I didn't watch it as much as had it on for background noise! So far, so good. Almost any show works for background noise-lolol.

Been without "the cord" for about three, maybe four, years now. My local library has much better content. Best part is: no commercials in books.

We found out that we get WE and Oxygen...channels that we could not get before. Now Mom loves watching "Snapped" and "CSI: Miami" when we are not watching the local channels. We also get the religious channels, which we avoid (unless its the Sister and Mom is still in bed).
