I must say it is informative to sit and listen to someone go on and on about why people she has never met vote the way they do. (informative as in how the poster thinks, not informative like I think she has a clue how every gay on the right thinks)

Who,besides you, has claimed to know what every gay on the right thinks?

I have never claimed that I know what every gay on either side thinks, but I am not surprised that you would lie and claim I did.

But it isn't anything I haven't heard before.

And if the only issue I ever had to worry about was tied to being gay, I might even agree.

So you vote for those who would put you in jail...makes sense from what you have constantly posted.

You have no clue who I vote for so quit pretending you do

quote:

But there are a lot of issues out there and most of them have nothing to do with the topic of being gay.

Of course the other party never addresses those.

Did I say that?

quote:

I also think it's kinda cute that you honestly believe the idiots on the left really care about you and your issues.

I also think it is kinda cute that you "honestly" believe the idiots on the right really care about you and your issues.

Again, did I say that?

I learned a long time ago that most of them on both sides are self-serving assholes who would lie about anything as long as it got them a few votes.

And yet you continually support one of those two lying punkassmotherfuckers.

and you continually try to assume you have a clue who I support or don't support.

But you keep towing that party line and maybe they will send you a bumpersticker to show your pride.

But if you keep towing that party line and maybe they will send you a bumper sticker to show your pride.

I don't do bumperstickers

Your posts are pretty clear as to what you support.

Your post constantly suport the republicrats and now you tell me that I have no clue as to who you vote for.
Well if you do not vote the way you post that would mean that your post are nothing more than lies.
Thank you for your candor.

alwayssummer -> RE: How Dare an Openly Gay Man Run as a Republican In an Election he Could Win!!! (4/29/2014 4:19:48 PM)

I've lived in San Diego 26 years; DC's article pretty much describes why De Maio's mayoral run failed. Also probably why De Maio will not win against Scott Peters to represent my district. Not that Peters is all that great: he's part of the House freshmen class of Third Way Dems who disturbingly vote with Repubs on proWall Street bills. Peters is a 100 plus millionaire and not exactly a guy of the people. Peters reelection (he'll probably not be challenged from the left despite his DINOness} is pretty much reflection of our district's more liberal coastal and long standing, urban easy going attitude about, well, everything.

DeMaio was a City Councilman representing one of the only 2 City districts that didn't vote Obama. It's a retirement hub for old, paranoid conservatives, a suburb for white flight and hq of lots of military contractors, even sports a Koch industry; it's where a big chunk of Romney kids' tax free hundred million landed.

Our two main newspapers have been rendered useless by rightwing zealot/ self enricher Doug Manchester; our tv stations also display a consistent rightward bent. Pretty much the only left media are the free weeklies. So Demaio had the money and the media behind him before, just not the voters.

SD is now a majority Dem City. Our City Council is 6-3 Dem, our County Supervisors also Dem majority. The new Mayor is a Repub but ran mostly as a likeable surfer dude and as far away from Repub talking points and id as he could. ( Low turnout... nobody cared that much bkz he can be vetoed every time by the Dem City Council.) In the next regular election probably Todd Gloria, (who was had to serve as mayor pro temp as head of the City Council ,so couldn't run for mayor) who is both gay and a Democrat, will run and win. If not Gloria, Christine Kehoe (also a gay SD rep, now 1st woman/gay Leader of the Ca State Senate) or Marti Emerald will run & win.

DeMaio lost for mayor in 2012 because he opposed gay marriage, because he is a Koch/Norquist disciple & carpetbagger and, well, frankly because his googleyed meanness & charmlessness goes over about as well in SD as his pal's Paul Ryan would. No amount of rightwing propaganda or money could make the majority of voters in SD like or trust him. DeMaio's demeanor is petty, self-rightgeous,condescending.

Voting for DeMaio as a gay person would be like voting for Allen West as a minority or Karen Handel as a woman. No one in the LGBT movement in mainstream San Diego is interested in what Bush's mouthpiece Dana Perino or even Ken Mehlman think of our politics. Because of media bias, it's been very, very difficult for Dems to win in SD. Yet our City and County have all majority Democratic representation. Our Congressional Democratic preference of 3:2 most likely will hold, because this district is now a majority Democratic district.

Just to put the phony outrage of the OP into perspective...

Log Cabin republicans are nothing new and are more accepted by democrats and moderates than by their own (and Fat`s) bigoted party.

Thank you for the informative post, alwayssummer.

You tell someone that they do not know how every gay on the right thinks. That could only be true if you knew how every gay on the right votes. Perhaps if you were to expend a bit more effort in composing your post you might actually understand what you write.
Next you call me a liar for pointing out your ignorance. Perhaps you might acquire a dictionary and inform yourself as to the meaning of the word lie.

The truth is that you consistantly post in favor of right wing couses and candidates. To assume that you would vote for al sharpton would require copious quantities of pga.

Wow... really??? Dead you say?

Republican and or Conservative women are not really women. Republican and or Conservative Blacks are not really black and it appears Republican and or Conservative Gays are not really gay....that seems to sum up your view DK, 59's and several of the others.

Funny too on how you all here on the left demand the GOP change or demand that Conservatives become more tolerant but them mock women, gays and black who dare to show their political right leanings.

OwnerFiftyNine -> RE: How Dare an Openly Gay Man Run as a Republican In an Election he Could Win!!! (4/29/2014 9:32:59 PM)

Awww....so unfair....

No one said a woman couldn`t be a republican......

But if they help your party in trying to make women 2nd class citizens......no one but a complete ass is going to wonder why women question the treachery of the female con.

No one dissed Michael Steele for being a black republican.....

Clarence Thomas on the other hand, deserves every criticism and name he`s been called.

It`s about the content of character.

No, I don't have to know what every gay thinks in order to know that someone else doesn't. It's called common sense. You might want to try it some day. Oh and as long as you keep lying I will keep calling you a liar. That's how it works here.

Common sense does not appear to be too common.

I should also post this.

"I've found more tolerance, acceptance and inclusion from social conservative groups who have to reconcile that I'm a Republican who happens to be gay versus the intolerance the LGBT leaders see me as a gay man who happens to be a Republican. Despite claims that they insist on tolerance, diversity and acceptance on all political issues, I suspect that they really want to keep intact their alliance with unions so that they don't upset their funding sources and coalition. The Democratic groups need the GOP to remain the bogeyman because if the Republicans are no longer a threat, who needs to donate to these LGBT political groups?”-

Former San Diego City Council member and 2014 US House candidate Carl DeMaio, speaking to Fox News reporter Dana Perino.

Let me see if I understand this? This piece of shit who stands for lower wages, lower taxes for his cronies, you want us to vote for him because he is a cocksucker and not because we agree with his policies.

You support right wing politicians. Those same right wing pols support the folks who tried to get Uganda to make homosexuality a capital crime.

I didn't realize Stabenaw was a republican. I better run off and tell her to stop this shit right now because DK said so. Thanks for the heads up.

So you support a Democrat. You also support right wingers. Don't try and deny the fact that you are extremely conservative..

Actually I have supported many in the past and if I think they are any good I will support them in the future. Don't really care if they are r or d. As to my leanings, I wouldn't say I was extremely conservative but I am not a bit surprised to see you lie and claim it is a fact. It seems to be your MO lately.
