I don't live my life in the right vs left land. But for those of you who don't know Jimmy Fallon, here he is.

He's had some great guests on his show, since replacing Jay too.

He just makes me laugh...liberal, conservative, independent... I hope he;s around a long time!! :)

Dennis Miller doesn`t count b/c he`s no linger funny.

No longer funny?!?!? No longer funny?!?!? You do realize, that implies that he was funny at some point in time?!? I challenge that assertion.

What?Don't tell me you have already forgotten Miller's memorable (but brief) stint on Monday Night Football?

Aw, dammit!!! You had to go and do that. I think I had finally repressed all those exposures, and you had to go and bring them back up...

I didn't have a clue either so I googled it. He is a talk show host and according to the OP, he is supposed to have us cons all sad. I guess I must have missed another memo.

Actually, I knew who he was. I have never found him funny, nor have I ever felt sad over his having a show. Well, that's not true. I have felt sad for the people who think he's funny.

He was funny back on SNL. His Weekend Updates are classics.

Not even then, imo.

He is still joking about Clinton's sexual propensities and how global warming is a hoax. He's also stuck up on 9/11 and a dislike / distrust of Muslims. When those are not working, he has crude fat jokes. His ethos has become a kind of ranting without caring, whereas it is very clear the likes of John Stewart and bill maher care deeply about improving US society.

Something about Miller strikes you as broken and defeated. For him the world has moved by him in ways he did not like, especially after 9/11. He still remains a big fan of the Iraq war and supported the USA's use of torture as justified. He strikes informed Americans as demented with such positions. But, yes, he gets laughs from the base.

THE BIG SPEECH is pretty representative of him. He is still funny, but he's also unhinged - in a way that would cost him the educated audience while alienating anyone with liberal sensibilities.

He uses ornate language to describe emotional reactions as facts and a legitimate point of view, when under a deeper analysis, you can only think he's just misguided.

The "yeah you're right quality" about him has changed to "really? That's what you think ^#%*£<"

I`ve always been OK with cons not enjoying great music and comedy.I actually enjoy their angst and envy and self-isolation.

I`m ok with them not getting the joke.............. and don`t mind that they are out of the loop and miss out on today`s culture and art.

Fallon kill`n it.

Now I will completely understand if you don`t find this funny, considering the lack of exposure to popular culture.

One of Colbert`s and Stewart`s greatest contributions has been their comical debunking of the incoherent/irrational/contradictory/foolish/racist/sexist things coming out of right-wing-world.

Is it Colbert`s fault that the right provides such embarrassing/repugnant/regretful material to work with?

http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/432002/january-09-2014/new-jersey-bridge-scandal---chris-christie-s-someone-else-a-culpa

This is why the public gets so much of their ACTUAL news and news insight from Comedy Central.....because the MSM is as lame as kitty litter while fox presents the alt. right-wing-world.

That is not funny. It could have been funny. The timing is off. He simply wasn't trying.

Some may find this a bit difficult to a believe while most assuredly don't care but I don't watch any of these so-called comedian/talk show hosts. I go back to and still haven't watch one as funny as Steve Allen who stayed out politics.

Funny to me is Robin Williams and I go back to Jonathan Winters and Don Rickles who spared nobody. After that there's just not much.

Stewart and Colbert are both often funny. Although Colbert is never as funny as the early days when conservatives went on and thought it was actually a conservative show.

They have. It's called the House of Representatives.

To me, dismissing global warming is not funny, it is dangerous denial.

His broad brush of Muslim extremism ignores the new train of thought regarding these groups as tribal and anti-modern.

Joking that the prisoners in Guantanamo have it good because they've gained weight while ignoring everything else: the isolation, lack of legal rights, etc. is not funny to me. It is callous. Also, Guantanamo might actually be a rallying cry for anti western sentiment, helping fuel extremism instead of the opposite.

His reference to president Carter was empty, and his riff about Pelosi, although mocking, was devoid of any facts or political analysis.

Also, in a complicated world, his self-assured smugness is not particularly reassuring.

This.....was the event where conservatives learned that Colbert was their enemy.....

The Colbert Report was still pretty new although I already knew about Colbert and his very clever satire.

So when I saw this on c-span I knew I was in for a treat and Stephen killed.

He ripped shrub a new ass hole while also bashing the MSM for their lameness.

It was also pretty clear that shrub`s people had no clue what was coming......and were not laughing....

Seth Meyers at the WHCD

"Donald Trump says he`s going to run for president as a republican.......which is weird b/c I always thought he was running as a joke...."

"Donald Trump owns the Miss USA pageant which is great for republicans b/c it will stream-line their search for a vice president....."

Now that`s funny........cuz trump provides the material....
