Was playing bridge today online with a guy named BarackoVomit, and he was going on and on in the chat window about how only people on welfare could be happy with Obama and that the only remedy to fix the country was to impeach Barack Obama, "who had committed many impeachable offenses."

So that experience has been followed up by this thread....

I have long maintained that the greatest enemy for Republicans is Democrats -- the internal cancer of the USA.

Ok I have to ask, why would you play anything with someone with a screenname like that. I have played in a lot of online forums and I always had a choice of several people who I could have approached for a game. If I saw someone named BarackoVomit I would have blocked him and moved on to the next name. The only possible explanation I can come up with is you wanted some ammo from this idiot so you could paint all republicans as evil. And since you came here to talk about it, I would say I am probably right.

Who do you impeach:

A ) A Democrat whom lies to Congress about having sexual relationships with an intern.

B ) A Republican who lies to Congress about dragging the entire nation into a war. Dropping $4 Trillion of borrowed money without a second thought, 4,000+ US Soldiers KILLED, 32,500+ US Soldiers with long term wounds, and placing 100K-600K civilians 'to the sword' (depending on which report you want to believe).

According to 'GOP Thought', 'A' is who needs to be impeached while giving 'B' a blank check to simply do more. The Republicans basically lost all credibility when it comes to impeachment. They couldn't hold their own party to the same level (if not twice) of accountability and responsibility with power as they blasted the Democrat. Even though the Republican did far worst than the Democrat.

The 'impeaching' of President Obama is only for cheap political points by Republicans towards those that voted them into office (i.e. the Low Information Voter). Since those Republicans have....NOTHING....to offer the nation in any substantial manner or means.

Agreeing with you 100%. One has only to sit back and watch what's REALLY going on while Republicans run distraction scams to keep people from seeing what they are really up to.

Yahoo Bridge -- you play with who sits down. I myself did not politicize the bridge play. He was not a bad player and also had a sense of humor.

I think he would have liked Lucy's commieblaster website, tho.

Really? Then why do you spend all of your time in here picking virtual arguments with people (or, perhaps in a few cases, bots)?

You mean like you just did? I come here because I like the discussions and I have learned a lot from some of the posters. Now admittedly there are a few trolls but the good outweigh the bad. I play games to have fun and that doesn't include dealing with the kind of asshat who would use that kind of screen name. Why do you stick around?

I played 18 holes of golf with a guy who "hated Tiger Woods" and thought that the problem with Baltimore City was "niggers."

My feeling is that I cannot change anyone like that by getting insulted, and I feel I have more to learn by simply listening. I also like others to be candid and prefer that over bigots who deny their own biases.

Over the weekend a tennis friend of mine said "in order to get the other side" I needed to watch Fox News. To this, I did not really know how to respond, so I simply did not respond. I've been thinking about it a fair amount since, and it occurred to me that the irony of Fox News is how closely it resembles the old Soviet Press and its coverage of the WEST.

To some degree, this is what the message boards have taught me: others' views are usually etched in granite and others generally are ignorant of their own biases.

The Fox News tennis player was lamenting how millions had lost their health care coverage b/c of Obama care, but he never balanced that with fact that many more millions prior to Obama care lacked health insurance altogether, that health care costs in the USA are the highest in the world, and that those costs have been dropping under Obama.

Ideology and ideological bias that you agree with is often imperceptible, as you say. That's a big part of why heavily spun news channels slanted towards a specific bias are so successful.
