lovmuffin -> Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 8:28:34 AM)

In the polls leading up to the election, the gap narrowed to 4 points, likely because of Obamacare. I think Cuccinelli would have won had it not been for the Libertarian candidate monkey wrench.

" A major Democratic Party benefactor and Obama campaign bundler helped pay for professional petition circulators responsible for getting Virginia Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot — a move that could split conservative votes in a tight race.

Campaign finance records show the Libertarian Booster PAC has made the largest independent contribution to Sarvis’ campaign, helping to pay for professional petition circulators who collected signatures necessary to get Sarvis’ name on Tuesday’s statewide ballot.

Austin, Texas, software billionaire Joe Liemandt is the Libertarian Booster PAC’s major benefactor. He’s also a top bundler for President Barack Obama. This revelation comes as Virginia voters head to the polls Tuesday in an election where some observers say the third-party gubernatorial candidate could be a spoiler for Republican Ken Cuccinelli."

I wonder why the thread Owner59 started about the Virginia governors race disappeared. Was it because I said McAuliffe is a dirt bag Clinton attack dog sleaze ball that can't win without using dirty tricks ? Or was it because of a nasty response to my post ? Owner59 said the McAuliffe win indicated trouble for GOP. I said it doesn't mean shit.

Maybe these are the REAL reason for the election win...

All the greater accomplishment, luvmuffin.

lovmuffin -> RE: Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 9:43:18 AM)

I'm going to spend my days worrying about that up until at least the next election Owner. I might even commit suicide I'm so depressed.

Though maybe I didn't mention the RNC didn't help out financially with the Cuccinelli campaign. Chris Christy wouldn't even come down and give Cuccinelli a critical boost when asked to do so. It's funny how establishment republicans shoot conservative candidates and themselves in the foot. Cuccinelli could have won.

EdBowie -> RE: Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 9:43:24 AM)

I don't why the election thread disappeared either. It is unknown how much damage Cuccinelli did to his own campaign with his rhetoric and behavior, but certainly a 3rd party siphoned away votes.

mnottertail -> RE: Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 9:48:07 AM)

Chris Christy and Cooch happen to share a R after their name, but I get strong indications all the time that Cristy wouldn't give nutsackers his dicksweat if they begged for it.

He is in the close to moderate sect (a nearly non existant faction of the Republican party)

I'm not sure what you mean by behavior but by rhetoric do you mean hard line against things like abortion and same sex marriage or against things like high taxes and big government ? If the former I get it but on the other hand the latter is what matters. If we don't get fiscal issues in check and hyperinflation takes hold then the social issues won't really matter anyway. I don't see any politician having much of an effect getting rid of abortion.

Maybe trying to reinstate the state's sodomy law was considered hard line by thinking people?

well, he took it in the ass pretty good, didn't he, old Cooch?

Yeah right, maybe taking something so far out of context that it lands on Mars and saying something like that just to win even though its a lie sounds more like it.

You think he was lying when he said that stupid shit?  Don't matter he ain't even a dogcatcher anymore.

joether -> RE: Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 2:25:01 PM)

If I were to run for public office at the Federal level, and someone from the opposing team gave me a hefty donation. I think I would seriously question the motivations of that donation. I wouldn't even take it, even though it would place me at a disadvantage in the race. Apparently no one on the libertarian's team used their brain for anything but a paper weight! They foolishly (which is typical of libertarians these days) took the money, ran their campaign and helped the other team win. Would you REALLY want someone that was THIS FOOLISH in public office? Representing YOUR PARTY and YOUR BELIEFS to all Americans?

I think its just damn funny.....

It's a lie that he took an appeal of the overturning of the Virginia law to the US Supreme Court?

Guess not.

Christies` rebuff of the Cooch was a rebuff of extremism and radical politics.

The Cooch was the 1st to file suit against the ACA....back in those heady days when ya`ll were duped into thinking it was unpopular....

And the only chance your party has next Novembers is that folk`ll forget your party`s maleficence.......That and more voter suppression...[:D]

Something tells me your party will keep reminding folks alllll next year though....We`ll hear threats of default in a few months.....and it will disgust people like never before.....

FWIW...I read a gop strat-guy say that the Cooch lost because he couldn`t get cons to donate money.....Something about the Cooch`s "sense of entitlement", if I recall correctly....

It's certainly a gross exageration. So they wanted to apply the law to an adult committing a sexual act with a minor. I'm not in favor of cruel and unusual punishment either but I don't have a problem with hanging up sex offenders by thier balls.

That's bullshit. If the person was below the age of consent then there are plenty of statutes available. However a 17 year old is legally able to consent to any sexually activity she desires. This was simply a lame attempt to bring back a law only enforced on unpopular groups and relationships. BTW the law did not target adult/minor sex but all oral and anal sex between consenting adults.

Owner59 -> RE: Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 5:10:37 PM)

Considering the Cooch`s anti-homosexual .Christo-fascist/fundie positions, what evidence is there that those who voted libertarian would have broke toward the homophobe?

Historically,3rd party voters split 50/50...... And Libertarians usually don`t vote for the guys poking into bedrooms and gynecological exam rooms....aka, your party`s extremists....

I heard rush say the "party establishment" wanted the "tea-party"/shutdown guy to lose to send a message....

Not sure how that can be explained rationally....

Rationally explained, the establishment rebulicans resent the influence conservatives seem to have in the party at the moment yet still, it's irrational to shoot their own guys out of the saddle.

Bullshit is the notion that the ebil wepublicans are going to go house to house checking up on who's getting blowjobs.

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama Bundler Bankrolled Libertarian in VA Governor's Race (11/6/2013 6:57:10 PM)

bullshit is the notion that anyone thinks that muffin
given his anti gay rhetoric, it was an attempt to buck a 2003 SCOTUS strike down of the law, so that gays can be charged with felony sodomy, why just not change the other specific laws for asswipes fiddling with minors.
