Every plan offered. In one javascript based spreadsheet. You can filter, sort, and hide columns. In your browser.

Now, does anyone have any actual links to shit that *doesn't* work, or are they all just full of shit at this point?

At this rate it only seems logical that they'd extend that date out... welcome to the DMV of healthcare.

FR:

Based on this spreadsheet it looks like either Kentucky has no policies... or the State of Kentucky no longer exists.

Hmmm... perhaps you need look no further than your own link for "shit that doesn't work". [;)]

Kentucky set up their own exchange so healthcare.gov does not include the state.

Nope. What we are seeing is ONLY those states that decided to use the Federal "Exchange." For example, both California and Colorado don't appear because they have their own Exchanges. I can't answer for Kentucky, but I bet that's the case.

What is NOT working at the Federal level is the interfaces, both the "facing out" and "facing in." When you actually buy a plan, after shopping and ask for the subsidies, your SSN will be checked against the Social Security database to make sure that you have one and that's the right name. (That's but one, teeny, tiny example that's easy to understand.)

I know these things because I was recently working for a call-center run by Anthem / Wellpoint / Blue Cross / Blue Shield and was trained to explain this to the hundreds of folks calling in to bitch about their new - almost always doubled - rates.

The call-center was one of the worst run companies I've ever come across. What a friggen mess. I am grateful to not be working there anymore. Most of the reasons I left are about the company, a few about trying to help people get low-cost / affordable health care when there simply isn't any option.

Obamacare is another socialistic program - Rob from the rich and give to the poor. Income distribution, whatever you want to call it. Here, the Feds are simply paying the subsidies. Money from? And BTW, if you want the max subsidies, get a "silver plan." Bronze plans only cover your premium subsidy; Silver covers that and a co-pay subsidy.

ObamaCare is also the first step toward the "one-payer" option, i.e. socialized medicine. You will have a premium deducted from your paycheck, just as we now pay Soc.Security. When ill or needing surgery or whatever, you will simply appear at a facility and have no charge, no co-pay.

--------------------------

Meanwhile, there are 10 EHBs (Essential Health Benefits) that are required to be in ALL policies whether you need that form of coverage or not. For example, I'm paying for Pediatric Dental.... gay man? Nope, I don't think so.

Some are reasonable - especially those EHBs that are preventive. Free flu shots and other recommended injections. Men's screenings for prostrate cancer and women's screenings like PAP smears and mammograms.

---------------------------

All in all, a move toward complete Government health care. Own any Stock in Health insurance companies? Sell now the price will continue to drop. And that's the truth. PTTTTTShhhhhh! (as Gilda would say.)

What doesn't work is the exchanges. You can only get the subsidies through the states' exchanges or the Federal exchange.

Yes, this spreadsheet shows rates, but doesn't tell how to know which "rating area" you are in. Also, I didn't see rates for smokers. (I might have missed that.) Also, spread sheet didn't say "two or more kids pay the rate for two kids." That is, 3 or more kids are not included in ratings.

And we all pretty much know what an HMO is, but what's a PPO.... you might know that as a Preferred Provider Organization, but I'll wager you can't tell me what's an EPO? I ain't telling since I've resigned from the call-center. LOL!

Apparently your link is what's full of shit. [:D]

The administration announced it would provide a new "shop and browse" feature Sunday, but it's not giving consumers the real picture. In some cases, people could end up paying double of what they see on the website... Prices for everyone in the 49-or-under group are based on what a 27-year-old would pay. In the 50-or-older group, prices are based on what a 50-year-old would pay... Industry executives CBS News spoke with could not believe the government is providing these estimates, which they said were useless and could easily mislead consumers. ~CBS News

Well I have no sympathy for any of the millions in red states who support a state government that doesn't have a state exchange to then turn around and complain about the federal exchange. Typical hypocrisy of the right today.

Socialism my ass. When will people ever get through the unmitigated propaganda on this shit when they still don't even grasp the meaning of the word.

I love the creed of the right on this, typically...I want somebody else to pay for my health care which because I don't want to purchase my own...will be emergency care. Thank you, thank you very much.

Creed of the Right? "I want somebody else to pay for my healthcare". That is the mantra of people who are in favor of Obamacare!

The Honest President

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.

Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC NEWS that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a "cancellation" letter or the equivalent over the next year because their existing policies don’t meet the standards mandated by the new health care law. One expert predicts that number could reach as high as 80 percent. And all say that many of those forced to buy pricier new policies will experience "sticker shock"...

Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, "if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan," was still saying in 2012, "If [you] already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance."

"This says that when they made the promise, they knew half the people in this market outright couldn’t keep what they had and then they wrote the rules so that others couldn’t make it either," said Robert Laszewski, of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, a consultant who works for health industry firms. Laszewski estimates that 80 percent of those in the individual market will not be able to keep their current policies and will have to buy insurance that meets requirements of the new law, which generally requires a richer package of benefits than most policies today.

In other news, the White House website still says that if you like your plan you can keep it.
