No, you rarely offer solutions or even answers. You spend the bulk of your time pointing to things you don't like -- hoping either to assess blame or see heads roll.

When challenged to offer a solution or anwser, your response typically attacks the challenger as "not worth responding to."

Only crminals are being deported, remember? And then they are being coached to say they fear political persecution which halts deportation hearing until after hearings.

This is 100% false. Criminals are simply the top priority of ICE in the deportation process. Obama has deported more aliens than BUSH in fewer years in office.

When is the right wing going to wake up and propose an actual solution to the immigration question?

What happened at Walmart showed the true character of the welfare clan. It wasn't just one or two. It was a LOT. Tell me how flat screen
TV sets fill your hunger.

What does flat screen TVs have to do with anything? You can't buy flat-screen TVs with food stamps. You can only buy food and drink, and even then not hot prepared food or alcohol.

The news I watched, said some carts had flat screen TVs. I realize they cannot legally buy prepared food on the PA welfare , but I routinely have seen them buying hot sandwitches, wraps, etc. This was not in a small mom and pop store, but in a large chain store. Of course, this could be a thing between the clerks and their friends, and they write something legal on the receipt.

At a WalMart? Where the receipts are computerized and the machine makes you select payment method before swiping - Credit, Debit, EBT?

Bullshit on the first assertion, and fucking A right on the second. Again, why would I bother with a thoughtful reply to someone who starts with "anyone who doesn't agree with my knee-jerk, regurgitated, left wing bigotry, is an evil monster?"

Here, someone spouted off about illegal immigrants collecting benefits, someone else responded that couldn't be true because they would be deported. The INS aspect was covered, and I gave a brief explanation of the actual WIC/TANF/SNAP policy.

Do I have a thought or two about the reality I described? Yes. It's a sympton of a broader failure in immigration policy.

Just as a point of interesting contention.

Japan, after WWII was bombed out. Industry destroyed. Millions of dead, wounded. Infrastructure a shambles.

How did Japan, after WWII rise like the phoenix - so that people were proclaiming their economic miracle in the 80's.

Did they do it through Social security payments? No.
Did they do it through feed the poor programs? No.

Yet people will argue that these programs are the fastest ways to regrow an economy. Sheer, unadulterated poppycock.

Japan rebuilt. It invested in industry, and research. It made smart bets on steel, cars, IT.

So, joel, not every that thinks our spending priorities are wacked do so from a desire to wipe out the lower classes.

Most, like me, would rather take effective action to grow business opportunities. To further education. To cut corruption. And, oh yes, lower poverty.

The treaty that ended the conflict with japan prevents japan from having a military. With the u.s. supplying the military umbrella that protects japan the money that might otherwise be spent on defense was instead spent on infastructure and social programs.
In japan if one works for the korporate enterprise it is cradle to the grave security.
Perhaps a casual perusal of the cultural and socio-economic structure of japan might be helpful in acquiring a knolwledge of the causes of japans economic power.

Oh please. Have you ever talked to a clerk about this? Ive seen a woman come in with a fistful of EBT cards, and buy more than $600 worth of steak - and drive off in a Mercedes.

Please.

Then you should have reported her. It's illegal to use someone elses card. And Kali is right, you have to pick which card you are running and the machine does the rest. The stores in this area don't use written sales slips and even if they did they would still have to run the card through the machine to get credit from it.

A "machine" does't know what a person buys. It only knows what the clerk enters. A clerk can enter a number when the barcode is "unreadable." (wink, wink) Everyone here probably has had a clerk legally manually enter a number when a barcode won't "read."

Yes, actually it does know. I scan the whole order and it tells me how much is allowed on the EBT card. If I manually enter an amount because it won't scan then the EBT system won't allow it. The balance has to be paid another way.

While I agree the idea of someone going to a cashier and pulling out a fistfull of ebt cards and being allowed to use them all is a bit far fetched so is the idea that if he doesn't have video it didn't happen. I doubt many people go through life video tapping everything in case they need to provide a link.
