Saying "most Republican women don't do [that]" is true, but misleading. The wife of a Democrat, husband of a Republican, or husband of a Democrat would all most likely refrain from making a public statement contrary to the views or policy choices of his/her spouse.
Agreed. If Michelle Bachman's husband went public saying he thought gay marriage should be legal, everybody would be pretty shocked, too. (Well, maybe not that shocked. [;)])
Though I don't think a lot of prominant Republicans in general would go on TV supporting a woman's right to choose.
