excellent point and it brings up something else: an online course in coding software or websites is one thing, but an online course in tap-dancing might suck, comparaitively.

One of my friend's wife is an RN MSN and is now writing her dissertation for her Ph.D.
She did about 80% of her doctoral work online and with good schools too so she liked it for the convenience.
And at that level I don't think it makes a differance about classroom and the warm fuzzy stuff.
She gets up at 0500 every morning and is busy with all kinds of projects, excercising, taking care of her husband and daughter, work etc so her time is limited.
Plus, you could be in the "billa bong" of ...Kansas say and get a degree from Boston Uni.
I think attending classes for A B.S. is a good idea just for the interaction.

good point, but as we said, there's no way your wife could learn proper 'fretting' technique on line, as compared to an expert musician showing you by modeling your fingers on the neck of an instrument how 'it needs to be done'.

despite my devil's advocate post above, your points are great and well made! [:)]
