DommeGoddessEva -> Teamviewer (8/27/2013 1:11:18 PM)

I keep getting asked if I do Teamviewer sessions. I know I'm old, and out of touch with technology, but I'm confused as to how I could perform a session that way. Ordering someone to do things to themselves while I watch just seems bizarre to me. Is this the future of BDSM?

it may be, but have your system protected it leads to big vulnerabilities, shut off remote registry service at a minimum, remote user, and have a firewall. If you can't do that yourself at a minimum, fuck a bunch of teamviewer, you will be compromised. go to collarme video forums and create a private room if thats what is gonna be.

Thanks for the info and the warnings :-)

remote administration as well.

Get comodo internet security for free, and throw away whatever firewall you got, and get notified of remote accesses, and block them, make your ports invisible as well.

I disagree. Things like the remote registry service aren't going to change much when you have direct access to the console. Teamviewer is a well respected program that can be configured in a reasonably secure fashion by novices (you accept the defaults). You have to specifically ask it to allow unattended access and/or non-changing passwords.

That being said, there are tons of really good reasons to not do teamviewer. Those reasons are mostly on the client side (submissive side in this example) although the d-side racks up risk just by having access to crap they probably shouldn't (bank accounts and the like).

FR

In my experience, most submissives who want teamviewer sessions specifically want illegal activities .... IE, they want the dom to transfer money from their bank accounts or use their online shopping accounts to purchase items. They get off on the idea that its being done without their consent.

If they just want to perform BDSM activities at your command, why do they need teamviewer? They can just fire up Skype and a webcam and go at it.

To read this will make you vomit on your shoes, if you are not a computer geek: But my take, not safe.

The remote stuff shut off is not while you are on teamviewer. later, after the authenication has been snagged.

that is just a few....

You are essentially giving access to the internet (the entire internet) to your computer and the privileges of whatever the local user, is.........and from there (mostly on home computers, you have the world)

You may minimize your risk by opening when you need it and closing it immediately when you are done.

But having given someone an invite.........there are nasty little virus agents out there.......looking for this.
