MasterCaneman -> Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 12:56:02 PM)

Since no one else has started it, and every other MB I'm on has one, here goes: What would you do if you win, have you bought a ticket, or why you didn't and no one should. Go...

mnottertail -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 1:09:00 PM)

I would walk into the grocery store, buy all the toilet paper, cuz I never wanna worry about that again.

I would buy a couch that a dog has never slept on, to have a couch to sleep on, and this would mean that I would have to build a way big house, cuz; I would come home, and there is the fuckin dog sleepin on my new couch, so dial the phone, order a new couch.

tommonymous -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 1:31:18 PM)

I don't really have any strong feelings one way or another. I'm mostly just posting because it's mandatory. [:D]

I might have to go buy a ticket though...

OsideGirl -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 1:32:18 PM)

We have tickets and jokingly picked out a house.

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 1:59:13 PM)

Yup...bought a ticket.....can't win if you don't play....y'know?!!

In no particular order...what I would do if I won....

1. quit my job
2. give several million to each of my kids
3. by all the cool toys I would like to have
4. legally change my name
5. have identity changing plastic surgery
6. travel to unique places around the world
7. by a specific piece of property I have wanted for more than 20 years then build an awesome house on it

jlf1961 -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 2:12:33 PM)

I dont play power ball, I play mega millions.

Damn, we've got mandatory threads now? If we don't respond, do we flunk out of Collarme?

If we do respond, do we get an automatic A?

Aren't there enough people here who already think that I AM an automatic A..., umm, nevermind.

First stop, the bank to see about getting a line of credit to last me until I actually have the money, which takes at least a couple of weeks after you turn in the ticket.

Second stop, a car dealer because doing all this shit riding the bus would be a pain in that automatic A. The car would be a plain, everyday, nondescript set of set of wheels, nothing that screams "I'M RICH" at all the junkies, gang-bangers and bums who live in this city.

Third stop, a lawyers office to find out how I can collect the prize without having every bum I've known in the last fifty years crawling out of the woodwork saying, "Hey there, remember me? Can you help me out with...."

Fourth stop, actually turn in the ticket, although I'd have the lawyer do that for me if possible.

FR

We have tickets and I have a house I want built partially designed in my head. It has two in-law suites (for both our mothers) in case it is needed, is a ranch/one-level home and has at least an additional 3 bedrooms, a media room/office for Master, living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen with walk-in butler's pantry, and a 4-car garage with an apartment above for a driver (both Master and I hate to drive so we would hire someone and part of their salary would the the apartment).

theshytype -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 4:28:19 PM)

I haven't purchased tickets but I know what I'd do:

Set up trust accounts for each kid.
Quit my job.
Pay off our vehicles.
Buy an oceanfront beach house.

jlf1961 -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 4:54:00 PM)

Well I broke my rule and bought a ticket.

College funds for all grandkids.
Debating between private island or mountain fortress.
A pair of Legacy Power wagons crewcab trucks.
Three oshkosh 8x's
start a secret society.

OsideGirl -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 4:58:28 PM)

One of the things we agreed on was the first thing that would happen is the ringer on our phones would be shut off and we'd be getting anonymous cell phones that don't require a name, only the purchase of minutes cards. (AKA Burn Phone)

ShaharThorne -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 5:16:11 PM)

I keep a Tracfone...buy the minutes online (90 days for 20 dollars, usually 60 minutes). I got like 1500 minutes since I brought the phone. and we only use it when we are traveling...I keep it in my purse and about once a month charge it up.

tj444 -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 5:30:17 PM)

When I was a kid (21 or so) I bought a few Lotto tickets but I quickly woke up to the fact that I was totally wasting my money.. I dont gamble either (too much risk for any potential reward).. I figure I have a better chance of getting big bucks by being somewhat smart, working hard & having a good investing plan and working that plan hard.. And imo, a person respects money more when they had to bust a sweat to earn it.. [;)]

FrostedFlake -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 5:33:14 PM)

I would mosey on over to Mr. Perezs' office at USDOJ Civil Rights Division and ask him a very few, very simple questions.

NuevaVida -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 5:37:22 PM)

A group of us at work went in on a pool of tickets. So, if I win a share:

Meet with financial planner to explore options.

Quit my job, pay off all of my debt, and the Mister's debt.

Get an ocean front home.

New cars for the Mister and I.

Help my brother out, who is struggling.

Travel the world.

And there would be a lot of charity work/donations.

TheHeretic -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 7:30:29 PM)

It might be fun to announce I was going to spend it all on a campaign for the Presidency, give a couple of incendiary speeches, and see how much free time I could get on the cable networks to spout my political craziness, before alledging dirty tricks and dropping out of the race.

I'd be a lot more fun than Ross Perot. [:D]

TNDommeK -> RE: Mandatory Powerball Thread... (8/7/2013 7:36:03 PM)

Donate some to saint Jude.
Pay off my and immediate family's debts.
Buy a house/car/boat
Buy gold and hide it.

Head to the beach

Money and women: Both ought to be respected. But, from time to time, each is oh so fun to treat with utter disregard.

Live on part of it and give the rest away in various ways. I only bought 1 ticket because I have no lottery luck what so ever, but I had to try. It amazes me how much money people are willing to spend on it. our store sold $3500 in lottery tickets today.
