Okay, I sit here at almost 10:30AM, I have been awake for roughly 6 hours and I am still completely pre-occupied with a dream I had last night. Nothing bad really, no death and destruction, no weeping and wailing, just totally freaking weird for ME. The whole thing just totally challenges the person I think I am, the person I am striving to be. The really crazy part was that in the dream it felt soooooooo wonderful. Made me feel "things" I have not felt in months.
I don't know what to think. Maybe it was just the dinner I ate causing indigestion. I have thought and thought what triggered the whole thing. Usually there is something going on, something I read or saw on television, that I can say........."AH HA, thats why!" ........ and move on. But I cannot think of one thing that would even have come close. Its bugging the crap out of me. Not so much the content of the dream but the reaction I had to it.

It's going to be one of those days..............

So, I am wondering if anyone else has ever had a similar experience?

Anytime you ask a question that starts "Does anyone else...?" the answer is always YES.

My problem is that I work out my emotional stress through dreams.  This can be very irritating because I KNOW I'm stressed about certain things, I don't need to DREAM about them also.

But yes, I've had very intense dreams that I felt were not really attached to anything going on in my current life.  I figure sometimes it's just a combination of things, a lucid period, or some travel I was taking while asleep hit something big.

Usually (and I just had this exact same conversation with someone we both forum with)  I can begin to realize the absurdity of something in a dream and tell myself "Hey, shithead wake up and give it up!!!!" 

But I also had a dream the other night that was totally absurd in what could be even perepherally real to my way of doing business (all non-sexual things).....and I woke up aghast, and it took me some moments to figure out that I was home, in bed and quite safe and sound..............

Ja, makes you wonder why that happens.

I had a dream a few weeks ago that I was standing in line at Subway.  That was the whole dream.  WTF!  My subconcious couldnt muster anything better than that!

Yes, I know the above sentence is needs a question mark and other things.  For some reason certain buttons are not working.  Namely the letter after O, the aostrohe... figure that one out, the question mark, the dash, the right one of these (, and the quotation marks.  It is really interesting trying to write things online without using any of those.  Makes you think.

absolutely.  the ones where the deceased loved ones participate are the kickers, though....when this slave finally realizes, in the dream, these folks are "dead" and aren't supposed to be there to interact on such a level that feels so REAL, all the crazy convoluted wierd dream action stops, (like the invisible director yelled "CUT!") and we talk...just like when they were alive, face to face. they comfort this slave through the shock of "seeing" them again, we hug and we laugh and we talk about why we are meeting like this.  then this slave wakes up and we are "parted" once more as this slave opens her eyes to her physical reality.

I have dreams all the time.  Sometimes its the subconscious bringing up things that my mind doesn't always know is there... sometimes its more visionary.  Sometimes asleep - sometimes awake.
 
Always it is good to take some time to think it through.  Try no to over analyse - and maybe talk through it with someone.  Write it down - if you get them often, start a book just for them.

I love when I dream of my grandmother or great aunt. Those dreams leave the warm fuzzies. I am definately used to strange dreams. I actually encourage them with crystals and do alot of dream work, have even dreamt as a male rather than female and as a non physical entity but for some reason the one I had last night was a shockeroo.

I usually scare the shit outa Neets when I dream because I'm reliving Nam or some other combat experience and she tells me I yell and swear or I wake her up conversing in an ancient language. Been known to get all hot and horney in a few dreams too and go for a grab.. heh she was resewing buttons of her pink jammy top earlier....[;)]

I had a dream just last week, that I woke up in shock over. It was Master packing up the car, there were no arguements, nothing bad, his words to me before he lef t in it were "I will be back". As he drove it off I felt a feeling of loss, or removal. Of course when I woke up, I'm thinking and thiking about the dream and what it could mean..My fear crept in "Ogod am I prophesising Master leaving me ?" (I can be prophetic at times). So anyways, I relaxed and forgot about the dream. Within a week, out of the blue, we end up getting rid of that car and buying a new one. Revelation of dream complete *grin* It was indeed a prophecy but not quite the one my fear wanted me to believe for a second or two hehe

Thank you!   I do have bad knees, kneeling is just not an option.

I once had that my mom turned out to be submissive, and Master dropped me for her. And i didn't even fight for him. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Weird dreams happen all the time. They're just your subconscious trying to figure things out for you. I'd be worried of people didn't have weird dreams.

A few years ago, I began keeping a notebook beside my bed. Whenever I'd have a dream, I'd write it down, sometimes I would be so sleepy I'd put down what appeared to be gobbledygook the next morning.
 
As time went on, I began remembering dreams every night, without fail. And what a strange collection I had [:)]. Anyone wishing to better remember what passes through their minds at night, give it a try.

La Tigresse, dreams serve a variety of purposes, relieving stress,
remembering people forgotten, reminding ourselves of what values
are most important and sometimes simply replaying the events of
a particular day.  The suggestion to keep a journal is a good one.
I also recommend some meditation CD's to use along with the crystals
and some aromatherapy with herbs in the bath and scented
pillows to ease into the change of consciousness.

This doesn't address LaTigresse's question at all, but I had the most f--ed up dream the other night about a good friend getting crushed by this elevator/stair contraption while we were running together to get to the bathroom because she really had to go.  It was really gory and nasty.  And I woke up completely convinced that she was dead. 

As another aside, I'm reading Stephen King's On Writing right now and he says he got the idea for Misery from a dream he had on a plane.  Upon waking, he wrote it down on a cocktail napkin and, after some thought, it grew into Misery.  Perhaps the key to your fame and fortune is in that dream journal, Level.  [sm=smile.gif]

I have had similar experiences with dreams. My dreams when I recall them are very vivid, in color and I have had dreams that I dwell on the meaning for hours, maybe days even. I do have dreams that can alter the way my "awake person's" way of seeing things or how I used to think or felt about something.
Example;
I had a dream where I went through the whole dying process and it had an effect on how I think about death now.
 
So, yes I have had dreams that have blown my  awake mind and that stay with me for a while.
I also have repeat dreams, well dreams that always have a similar theme to them.
 
I find dreaming very interesting, "the theater of the subconscious mind".

There was a period of time in my life where I was having a series of dreams about dying. I died so many ways, in so many time periods throughout history during these dreams. They were all so vivid, like they werent really dreams.
