Bruce Schneier NSA COLLECTS IT ALL

Countless security and CRCL attorneys/experts are loudly promoting this fact, NSA is collecting EVERYTHING. Though the media really is not touching it.

They have been for years:
Utadh Data Center Wired Magazine

It is strange humans living in the USA are not concerned with this. Or allowing something like Zimmerman to be the focus of their political wraith.

While I am no fan even the more democratic Blogs or popular online journalists (Cent TYT/Move On/Thom/Democracy Now) have been discussing the fact the NSA records 1 billion calls a day.

http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/17383-hints-that-nsa-is-building-massive-pervasive-surveillance-capability
http://blogs.computerworld.com/privacy/22414/nsa-collected-1-trillion-metadata-records-harvested-1-billion-mobile-calls-daily

I just can not imagine some one comprehends what is going on, if they are unconcerned or find this reasonable, necessary or acceptable. This is your family, kids, grandparents and survivors or Trayvon/Zimmerman. This impacts us all.

Without Warrant or Reason. NSA "collects it all"

I thought this post was unique from my first. So, I gave it a new topic. This is hardly intended to be "all inclusive". Just a spring board for you. Cause I care.

Oh, I rather suspect a whole lot of people are going to notice all sudden-like, the next time someone with the wrong letter next to his/her name becomes the beneficiary of the precedents of executive authority, and piles of police state tools, that will have been accumulated under the Obama administration.

Probably.

Just as our friends across the aisle were shocked, shocked to discover on January 20, 2009, that the nation was running a deficit.

njlauren -> RE: NSA - recording content; phone calls? (7/18/2013 7:57:26 PM)

The NSA has had the ability to tap and record phone conversations for years, this is nothing new, NSA intercepts are old hat. In theory they are not supposed to monitor traffic within the US, it is supposed to be only calls to overseas and overseas to overseas, but it has been going on a long time. Claiming this suddenly was created by the Obama administration is plain crap, it has gone on a long, long time. Do they record billions of conversations? I tend to doubt it, not much value in it, that is a lot of data to try and analyze and finding the wheat from the chaff is next to impossible. It doesn't mean it isn't something we should be concerned for, because it can be abused, and in this day and age of political extremism and with desperate minorities trying to cling to power, this kind of thing could be used to regain power in the wrong hands.....i

Claiming that such a claim has been made is pure horseshit.

FR

Can anyone imagine how excruciating it would be to have to hear people's phone calls? Cell phones in public are bad enough.

I listed one of the worlds most respected security experts. And a few links. None of which you addressed.

This is why the things you are writing about are happening. The republicans and the democrats have gotten so blind in their team colors that the knee-jerk reaction to any news like this will always be accusations about the other side. The fact that this has been both parties over a long period of time somehow doesn't register.

Don't worry though, within a few days most people will be saying it didn't happen. Either that or some ignorant asshat who thinks that because he can spell "hub" he's a network engineer will be educating us all on how it's not possible.

Counting sheep to the rhythm of the war drums.
Go back to sleep.

Can you rephrase that being less obscure and addressing some of the points brought up by myself or others?

In simple language... the american public doesn't care and doesn't want to know.

Esinn -> RE: NSA - recording content; phone calls? (7/18/2013 10:57:44 PM)

Again to think they are not doing more for your rights in an hour than all of us here combine - is fucking ignorant. All we know about NSL, FISA, FISC, Evading NSL gags, TSA abuses..... Many have won law suits..... They have helped to slow this.

I guess that is a typical macho "dom" bad ass reply. These people could be working for the NSA making 5 times what they make. But, they are so stupid they desire to work for you. ?

I dunno. As I said, I do not know your specific questions about exactly they have helped, what they have done or your feelings on what they need to do better - call them tomorrow. That is why they are there. ACLU & Sunlight foundation helped me "lobby" my my local politician at the time, "Richard Lugar". It is not easy getting in to see a senator or congress person. Espcailly one ont he council of foreign relations at the time.

The biggest problem is people bitch on the net and sign petitions as if. Or they don't try to inform themselves.

Esinn -> RE: NSA - recording content; phone calls? (7/18/2013 11:05:45 PM)

Yes they do.... You can follow the trends on TOPSY or any similar SNA tool. It is a month later and those who care are just as concerned.

Many democratic media sources have openly came out against Obama on this - Cenk from TYT as example. Even Maddow has chimed in. Amnesty International, Bolivia, Ecuador, Wikileaks, EFF, EPIC. Many German and latin american companies are refusaing to deal with Google. Have you been following this on LINUX or TOR forums? Things only change when you work to make them change. Obviously no one is going to go to war with the USG over this. Oliver Stone is no little man. One of the most respected screen writers/directors on the planet. He makes more in 6 months than ACLU makes in a year. Yet, it was important enough to him.

I get it, main stream media wants you to thing you are alone. You are not..... Do you know what DEFCON is? FLEA/ US IC is no longer welcome there - that was a huge stomping and recruitng ground for them.

Here is the first video I made in my life. It is very relevant. I used a program which is no longer available. I made it for people like you. This is still important, trending and relevant all over the world. Many products like the one I used still exist. You can check it out for yourself.

No. The biggest problem is that a fair number of Americans are so uneducated about world history and political science that they see no problem with the government spying on everything. You know... "You have nothing to fear if you're not doing anything wrong."

Of the rest, most of them want to turn it into a political agenda. Nobody wants to admit long-term consistent effort on the part of both parties to commit acts which are quite specifically VERY illegal. Sure, Obama has put this into high gear but he's riding on the effort of quite a few of his predecessors.

Esinn -> RE: NSA - recording content; phone calls? (7/18/2013 11:19:09 PM)

As I said, and demonstrated in my video. And offered another way for you to check trends. You are not alone. Most are concerned.

Millions of people are very angry, disgusted, outraged and taking action. While it is not really a safer option the increase in use of duckduckgo.com over google is more proof of this. TOR/Bitcoin/Wikileaks are reporting record donations.

That video I have is 7 hours long. In some cases 3-4 tweets a second came in. While it has dissipated, not that greatly. Your same arguments can be made about Negroes being owned, women in the work place, acceptability of homosexuality/BDSM, women voting....

Some of the questions have been answered. All we have made progress though there still might be a long path. Anyhow, I guess I am done. I have provided viable examples which demonstrate you are not alone in knowing this spying is illegal, unnecessary, unconstitutional and must stop. I have offered you ways to prove this to yourself or locations people have migrated to by the tens of thousands to fuck the NSA and protect themselves. You seem to mostly dislike Americans. I dislike them and most white people myself. Though I am a white american.

JeffBC -> RE: NSA - recording content; phone calls? (7/19/2013 8:03:16 AM)

I dont' dislike Americans. I AM an American. I have sympathy for them. You get stuck in the mirror box of state and corporate progaganda purporting to be news. You have sources that seem so credible like PBS or Time but aren't. There's no real way for most Americans to even have a freakin clue because they are so closely controlled that it makes Internal Enslavement look fairly normal. As I like to half-joke, they are caught in the matrix and it isn't easy to even know that much less find your way out.

What I despise is the inevitable result of that. The misery and suffering that is being caused both within the US and elsewhere is sad. But it's in the end-game now anyway. I think the house of cards is tumbling down and that whole patriotic or party fervor thing is at least STARTING to wear thin for increasing numbers.

That being said, I'd be willing to bet that right now on this forum there are lots of people who see Obama as a good guy... despite all evidence to the contrary.

Obama not his predecessors is president now. It is nearing the end of his second term. I would gladly sit on the jury trial of his predecessors. If found guilty I would happily vote execution - if legally allowable by law. Especially Bush.

It is so strange how individuals wish to rescue Obama. Yet, are intelligent enough to acknowledge it is currently his fault. Before Obama "rode" on his predecessors.... He rode on absolute non-ambiguous promises he would end it. It was the only reason myself and tens of millions of intelligent people voted for him in 2008.
