Calandra -> RE: How do you deal with missing your Master/ (6/28/2006 11:45:15 AM)

okay some of my suggestions may sound pedantic, but they have proven effective: Take an afternoon, and consider what skills might help you to serve your Master more effectively. Do you cook? Even if you enjoy cooking and are good at it, there may be ways you can improve your skills even more: ** Learn to make sushi (not all sushi is uncooked fish - I learned that from my cubby, who will slave himself out for a california roll - LOL) ** Choose a culture and learn recipes, dining habits, wines from the region, etc, and plan a meal for Him. ** Learn to bake - and then spend an afternoon occasionally making a tray of goodies that Master can take with him to work for fellow employees. (Men love it when fellow employees recognize that they have a "good woman" at home) ** Learn how to entertain in various ways from casual to formal. Know what tablewear is appropriate for what settings. How many forks? What type of glasses? Placemats, or cloth napkins? You can look online, buy or check out books, note tablesettings in magazines, even look for ideas in movies... (I love that in the last scene in "First Wives Club" the tables have a silky brokade type draping, with what looks like burlap diagonally draped over it - and votives were placed inside paper lunch bags as centerpieces - what a beautiful blending of casual and dressy materials!) Do you know how to create floral centerpieces? Silk flowers and materials can be quite expensive to begin with, but you can practice over and over until you are happy with the results - and once you ARE skilled with floral arranging, you can often make some great side income by creating things for others... Do you sew? Sewing is one of the most important ways to fill up your time and make a splash... ** You can sew placemats, tablecloths, curtains, throw pillows, and so many other things to make your home special and unique. I have probably 20 tablecloths because when I entertain I enjoy setting a "mood" whether it's for just two of us, or ten. (I have many many sets of 2-4 cloth napkins, and I will choose a solid colored tablecloth and different napkins for different looks) ** You can learn to sew various costumes to give your special times more flair. Almost all of the nationally known pattern companies have a section for costumes - popular ones are the french maid, the sultans harem girl, the cheerleader, the greek goddess, and so much more. Remember that whether you are smaller or larger framed dosen't matter since you choose the pattern size that fits you... and many of the costumes are easily tailored to accentuate a few curves or to fill you out if you don't have curves. (Hint: try creating a costume, then find music, recipes, and decor enhancements from one culture, then make a special evening for your Master - Make Sushi, wear a Kimono, and decorate the table with bamboo and origami, for example) I suggest these types of hobbies because while you are learning/engaging in these hobbies you are thinking of Him. You're devoting your efforts towards His pleasure, and you are excitedly wondering if he will be pleased with your surprises. Trust me, if your efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated, you might need to assess whether he is the Master for you in the first place.
