I am rewriting my cover letter and want a bit of opinion.

I am trying to list out my accomplishments by tying them into Buzzwords that seem to make HR types Salivate:

• Improved Efficiency
• High Work Ethic
• Excellent Reputation
• Overcome and Adapt
• Educate and Innovate

Then I put a sentence or two about how I have displayed these categories in my former jobs.

What I would like to do is put in a sentence or two about how when I was in College, that the students that they trained and paid to be computer monitors came to me to help them, to fix their screw ups and paid me to manage the computer lab while they ran the printer.

Because while they were supposed to be the know it alls at that time, I read the manuals, and I experimented and I developed a better grasp of the systems than they did.

Lab monitors aren't there to fix the computers. They are there to make sure other students don't break them and to handle very simple problems (Have you tried turning it off and on again?)

To answer your question: You can put in, "Excellent computer skills."

FR

I tend to make each cover letter unique, tailoring it to the specific job I'm applying for.

Last time I was applying for a job (a position I keenly wanted), I did a supplement to my letter/resume that itemized each requirement in the job description and explained, with concrete examples, how I was qualified to handle it. It meant an investment of extra time and effort, but it paid off.
