W Went to Wal-Mart, which I never do. Bought $150.00 worth of stuff. Had $100 in cash so used that and went to pay the rest with my debit card. Their card reader wouldn't read my card. Kept declining it saying invalid bank card. Yes my debit card is old, but it works everywhere else. And they wouldn't type in the card number bc I didn't have my ID. Fuck em. Filling a basket up of nothing but expensive meat and gonna leave it somewhere where they wont find it until the morning. Hunky... so basically because YOU have an old card and don't replace it with one that could actually work... you are blaming walmart and a cashier that doesn't make the rules and they often have to deal with crooks, thus the way they do some things? Not that I think they do everything right, but how about some personal accountability here rather than venting and purposely leaving meat that may or may not be handled properly, that could risk someone not involved and enjoying that thought so much that it isn't your problem... it is all walmarts fault because your time was wasted and they didn't cater to you? Get a new card, when you plan to use it, bring your ID or just go get some cash to supplement your on hand cash... problem solved and nobody is at fault.

I asked about the meat once, when seeing a cart waiting to be put back and was told they toss it. Then, they know I carry my phone with corporates number and am not afraid to call it. Thats how I get shorter lines. Hehe

The older cards CANNOT be used as credit, which means you need the PIN for each transaction. Alot of banks don't offer them anymore unless you pitch a big bitch about it and sometimes not even then. The old style cards are NOT a mastercard, Visa or anything, they are simply a bank card. They only have the actual account number on them without the 5XXX - MC or 4XXX - Visa ID prefix. They also do not have an expiration date. If someone gets ahold of the card, they cannot use it without the PIN, and it cannot be used online of over the phone. If a bank does not offer such a card I either do not want a card at all or I do not want the account with them at all. Incidentally, if a business limits the ways in which they can collect money they are totally fucking stoooopid and you're better off not dealing with their ignorant fucking ass in the first place. T^T

Actually got away with it at a Subway, but was blocked at three shoe stores and a Best Buy. The card company flagged the manual entry and called the house. When I told them what had just happened, the woman on the phone, as she was freezing the card, noted that whoever was trying to use it at a Walmart at that very moment.

Back when I worked overnights I had somebody bring me a "credit card" that was made from nice cardstock and Magic Marker. The number, security code on the back, and Visa logo were literally drawn on with markers, and he was acting weird. I asked for his ID and that was an obvious fake too, though at least it looked like it was printed on a computer printer... I was working alone and didn't want to risk pissing him off, so I intentionally entered the security code wrong and then apologetically said that it was declining and I didn't know why. And then I told the boss about it in the morning in case he needed to look at the security tape, but AFAIK the guy never came back.

^ the edit feature expired... I did post clarification in the thread. I certainly am going to watch the guy. The alarming thing - is- if he did this- think of others who also would do it. It is not fair that someone may suffer. How would HE feel if it happened to HIM? I think a bad bank card is alot better then food poisoning!!
