First piece of advice--GO SLOW!! there is something called "sub frenzy" that happens often to new and, especially, young subs & it can make you vulnerable to some of the sharks. Second, set your mail controls...New users show up on a list and you will receive 5 pages of emails every time you logon... You are young and if you are not interested in older men, out of state, out of country men, men who will want to give you "helpful advice"...set your controls so only viable mail gets into your inbox. 3. The biggest scam that happens-emails from men accusing you of not being female, saying there are rumors about your gender, claiming that they are "board moderators or owners" investigating complaints...-THEY ARE SCAMMERS who want to video chat & get you naked. Don't fall for it. Remember video chat can be recorded and posted other places online. 4. My best advice that has NEVER steered me wrong? Keep all communication onsite!! Don't fall for the easier to get to know you through SKYPE... Once you are actually meeting someone (in a public location!), you may want to give a # to make sure you connect. gOOD LUCK! It is fun, you will meet great people but, like everywhere else...there are some users and abusers. Read some of the books on the Recommended List, search through the topics here & see what some of the experienced people say..Ask Questions!!!
