This story breaks my heart and brings me some joy, all at the same time.

This arrogant, egotistical bitch that certainly had a negative affect on (and may have ruined ) a young man's life should wind up getting a little "tit-for-tit". Five years in prison and another five on probation. What low-life scum.

"Where's the joy?", you may ask.

Here it is:

quote:

ORIGINAL From The Link

Banks was a high school football star who had received a scholarship offer from USC and had made a verbal commitment to the school. After he was freed from prison, he reunited with Pete Carroll, who offered him that scholarship and had moved on to the Seattle Seahawks, for a tryout in June of 2012. He wasn't quite ready for prime time just yet, but he looked amazingly close for a guy who never played college football and had little time to prepare himself for the challenges of the NFL.

"I don't want nobody to take it easy on me out here," he said. "I know I have a lot of work to do and if that's what's required, then definitely give it to me. I'm ready for it. I've heard of his coaching style. It wasn't until that day of the tryout that I was on the way up here with one of the scouting coaches and he was like, 'I want to let you know, coach Norton — he's no joke.' But you know what? I like that intensity. I like that style of coaching. If it's not right, tell me it's not right. And if it needs fixing, tell me it needs fixing and let's fix it together. We'll get it done. I appreciate it."

Banks didn't make the team, but he got back to work, and made the Atlanta Falcons' roster in April of 2013. When that triumph was announced, Banks recalled some of the feelings he went through while in prison.

"It's almost impossible to explain, the feeling of not having freedom, to be stripped away of your freedom, of your dignity, the respect you once had. To lose it all and watch the world pass you by as you sit inside a prison cell, knowing you shouldn't be there, knowing you're there because of another person's lies, to lose it all and then get it all back, it's a very humbling, spiritual feeling that you just don't want to take anything for granted.

"I've had the opportunity to see both sides of the human spirit. ... My journey has been crazy but my journey has been a learning experience that is unlike any other."

I can't say enough bad things about the cretinous bitch, Gibson, who did so much damage. She's beneath contempt.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

he has the right attitude.. glad he is busy making up for lost time and moving forward..

as far as the "bitch" goes.. its one thing having a judgment against her, its another to collect.. until you do collect, all you have is a (possibly worthless) piece of paper.. its sometimes hard to get blood from a stone..

"Gibson was not present at the ruling and her whereabouts are unknown, per the Long Beach Press-Telegram, but the court gained authorization to recoup the money through her future wages and property."

Hillwilliam -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 11:43:36 AM)

He's not even going to recoup.
The School District is the "real victim" here (or that's what they claim).[8|]
They're the ones who got the judgement. The young man gets NOTHING.

erieangel -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 12:15:29 PM)

He might be able to sue her for defamation of character. She ruined his life. That should be worth something monetarily.

But he seems to be a forgiving soul and seems ready to put it behind him and move on. He won't sue.

tazzygirl -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 12:17:39 PM)

He has stated he wont. He wont even get involved in helping with criminal prosecution of this woman.

Hillwilliam -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 12:18:27 PM)

He won't sue because it would be a waste of time.

The school system is already in front with first claim and she has proven to be really good at lying and playing 'victim'.

yes, I know that.. which is why he had no comment about the situation.. he wasnt part of it, he might not have even known about the lawsuit.. he was moving on with his life and living it to its fullest.. and good for him (at least those that thought he was guilty are now reminded by the article that he was totally innocent).. let the school district chase her for the next 10 or 20 years.. actually, wouldnt it be the school district's insurance company that would have paid that? hmmm

erieangel -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 12:38:50 PM)

I say: Good for him. While suing her may be tempting, he'd be tied up in court the rest of his life. Why would he want that?

tazzygirl -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 1:24:22 PM)

Because, its my feeling she should be charged with the false reporting. Women who pull this kind of stunt simply make it harder for others.

I couldn't agree more with this.

Lucylastic -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 3:51:12 PM)

Anyone who pulls this shit stunt needs to be charged and jailed for false reporting, ruining this chap, I know I cant forget shit like that...he is a bigger person than I am......court trials are horrendous, even when you are in the right.

tazzygirl -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 4:10:07 PM)

Can you believe that its only a misdemeanor?

yeah, I agree but charging her would be up to the cops, i would think (?).. obviously he doesnt want her to waste any more of his life.. having a great life is the best revenge anyway..

tazzygirl -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 4:14:28 PM)

Except that women are banking on the system not doing anything to them... there is no deterrence ....

A rapist is a slug

A woman who accuses a man of rape in a fit of anger, spite, jealousy, ect ect ect, is lower than a slug.

She's a parasite on other women, as well as on this man.

yes, I agree.. but I have heard of other cases similar to this with false accusations made and the cops charged the women.. I am not sure why the cops havent charged this one, but if I understand the way the system works, its up to the cops to go after her, not this guy.. well, if they dont, I expect Karma will get her eventually..

playfulotter -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 4:56:56 PM)

This story is kinda local to me and I have been hearing about it for quite a while now..I am so glad it all worked out well for him..but no one can take away the time he spent in prison....at least he can still follow his dreams and the mistake was found out sooner rather than later! Nothing is 100% perfect..especially our legal system...but I do agree this woman should be punished in some way..jail time for sure!

tazzygirl -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 4:58:55 PM)

It wasnt found out by mistake, she came forward and recanted... after he was out of prison.

according to the article:
"He served five years in prison and another five years on probation as a result of the original verdict, and was released only in 2012 when Banks taped her admitting that the accusation was false."

that makes it sound like he was still in jail? and somehow he taped her confession?

TheHeretic -> RE: It's About Time ... Sort Of (6/21/2013 6:45:45 PM)

I say he did 5 years because of her - let him hunt her down and administer an assault and battery that would net him the same amount of time served - in CA these days, he could do enough damage to rate a 25 year sentence.
