Poll: You're starting to remember Bush fondly

After 5 years of Obama and his douchebag administration people are starting to see the light.

Just to be clear, as much as I think Obama is the architect of the new police state I do not remember Bush fondly. The man lied to us at a cost of several hundred thousand lives and trillions of dollars so he could make his friends rich and his daddy proud. The guy's a mass murderer of epic proportions. Got WMD?

magically disappeared as a result of the war of 1812, the war we never hear or talk about!

Banning brits from office!

and of course it was replaced with

quote:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

and of course with a self grant of power, try that some day! LOL

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.[1]

The police power is under the "GENERAL WELFARE" clause, it is the same identical power of the THE KING OVER THE REALM in england, and it was ushered in by the states with slime ball John Marshal at the helm.

No one understands where the roots are and they expect things to change by holding fucking tea bags in the air while the governor is golfing 6 states away? Yep thats what he did here! Knew they were coming and went out for a nice round of golf.

HAHAHAHAHA Yeh tea bags will git it done! and I have a fucking bridge in florida for ya!

start here

Barron ex rel. Tiernan v. Mayor of Baltimore, 32 US 243 - Supreme Court 1833

The constitution was ordained and established by the people of the United States for themselves, for their own government, and not for the government of the individual states.

and work your way to the spies case where the rights of the man OVER are abolished and UNLAWFULLY converted by the very same states chartered to protect them, into rights as a citizen UNDER.

its a big club and you aint in it!

I voted for Obama both times, and yes, I have not been happy with a lot of what has occurred under his command. However, what Obama has or has not done in no way effects what I thought of Bush. Bush was an ass, no ifs, ands or butts.

Also, even though I am definitely not 100% happy with Obama and even if I had known then (at voting time) what I know now, I still would have voted for him over the ignorant clown acts that the GOP had to offer. (And by the way, Obama wasn't my first choice...he was simply the lesser of the two evils that were offered.)

Does this mean shrub won`t be un-invited to the next republican convention? [:D]

Hillwilliam -> RE: Poll: Public starting to remember Bush fondly (6/12/2013 10:02:28 AM)

We're really grasping at straws when you show that Bush's numbers are 'better'. They're still much worse numbers than Jimmy Carter.

Seriously, a worse approval rating than Jimmy Carter and someone is bragging?

"As time goes by, presidents generally see their numbers improve the longer they are out of office. Gallup numbers show presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton all had favorable ratings over 60% when last measured. "

Lucylastic -> RE: Poll: Public starting to remember Bush fondly (6/12/2013 10:07:48 AM)

Only 49% of 1500+ people think more fondly of him is a better way to put it

mnottertail -> RE: Poll: Public starting to remember Bush fondly (6/12/2013 10:50:04 AM)

With a 95 confidence of plus or minus 3 so it could still be sour, amongst the 1500.

Looking at the breakdown, most non republicans still despise the putz but the republicans are worshipping him with an 80+% rating which is seriously hilarious considering the amount of time the republicans around here have spent distancing themselves from him and claiming he wasn't a "twue conservative."

They must have polled in Texas. In 100 years time will Bush be remembered in a better light than Obama, not a snowballs chance in hell.

Clearly people's memories are much shorter these days....[>:]

....I also wonder how many of those polled were in the 18 to 24 year old range and not even able to vote for him? Not to mention largely unaware of his lies and deceptions while in office.

The results would be wayyyyy different if they had poled the Dead whose lives he took. Johnson, Nixon, GW Bush, and their lieutenants . . war criminals.

dcnovice -> RE: Poll: Public starting to remember Bush fondly (6/12/2013 6:38:18 PM)

From the article:

For the first time since 2005, more Americans have a favorable view of former President George W. Bush than an unfavorable view.

According to a new Gallup poll released Tuesday, 49% have a positive opinion of the two-term Republican president, while 46% feel the opposite.
* * *

As time goes by, presidents generally see their numbers improve the longer they are out of office. Gallup numbers show presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton all had favorable ratings over 60% when last measured.

Emphases mine.

Bush is benefitting from a common trend, to look more favorably on former Presidents than current ones. Bush's numbers are rising because folks, including me, are grateful he's had the decency to stay largely out of view. The idea that this phenomenon translates to approval of the Bush presidency is wishful thinking--at best.

Even Nixon, let us remember, benefitted from the softening of views after he left the White House. Indeed, as one wag put it well, his career was marred only by his time in public office.

It's not all bad:

The stock market has boomed.

The housing market is recovering.

Unemployment is down.

No new wars have been started.

He hasn't taken away anyone's guns.
