fullofgrace -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/25/2006 11:50:06 PM)

for me, my profile stated i was owned the minute i put it up, because i had been owned for about two months before i joined :)

amaidiamond -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 12:05:35 AM)

When I joined, something was already progressing with a Man I met away from the site so from the start I was only looking for friendship with like minded folks, then it progressed further and I'm still only looking for friendship with like minded folks :D

A tie like that is very usefull, can think of so many other uses..... ;)

I dont get how people sign up and are owned the next day or even before.  Do they just take whoever emails them first?  Do they not undertake any discussion with potential Owners/Dominants?  Are people that truly naive about this world?  It really frustrates me to see people who are "owned" after being on here one day.  It really calls into question the nature of some of the Owners/Dominants here and lack of knowledge for people new to this world and makes me feel bad for the submissives and pissed at the idiots here.

In reply to your post...... Personally I really haven't a single interest in what other adults get up to, or how. If they are collared after 5 minutes, 5 days or 5 years it really makes no difference to me.....and why should it?

What is meaningful in my life will remain the same.

You've had time to monitor all this?

Btw - It takes a brave man to wear a tie like that.

Master2Bindngagu -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 6:32:29 AM)

ok, first off to the wonderfully exciting point of the tie.  No its not a looney toons tie, but I have worn ties like that before, I like some rather expressive ties (in fashion and bondage)  The long term ties is in relation to the bondage only

As for ones who sign up with new names as per owners or become more aware of what they are truly looking for after getting some kind of education on here about the lifestyle its not really pointed at them.. Its more of the people who sign up looking for someone and state that in their profile and say you mark the profile and go to email them the next day, but the next day its Im totally happy with my new owner  I just met and they dont want any more emails.    I know many people have many reasons for being here and searching and just getting to know the community or educating themselves, and its a great thing, but I just dont like the people that think with one email they "Own" someone.  Submission is a gift in my opinion and granted that is only my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs, its just frustrating to me sometimes in my search.  That is all :)  thank you for the many contributions to my post and would love ot here more!

Matt

Okay all you sub/slaves. It's Monday and you know what that means!

*Turns on pop goes the weasel music*

Musical Dom/me day.

Remember when the music stops if you don't have your new Dom/me you are un-collared and subject to megabytes of Troll Mail.

KnightofMists -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 7:29:27 AM)

I wonder who is the bigger idiot.... the person that accepts the collar after a few days or the one that gives the collar?

meatcleaver -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 7:32:01 AM)

Online is a game. When you have had enough you take your ball home. It really isn't worth considering more than that.

I am not sure who the bigger one would be, since this would make both I and my little one idiots.  Within a week she was owned, collared, and we were on our way.  That was 7 months ago and things just keep getting better by the day.  Now, neither one of us were new to either the lifestyle or CM but sometimes you just have to go with what you feel.

I do understand what he means.  I think there are many who are lonely and desperate for some kind of BDSM interaction.  I think there are also those who are naive and become victims of the trolls that lurk here.  Is it sad?  Yes it can be but in the end everyone has to make their own mistakes and find their own path.  You just hope they don't become damaged in the process.

JessieMe -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 1:40:17 PM)

Since this "happened" to me.. I will give you my perspective on it.

First of all..I got many responses to my profile. I read them all before making any decision. Secondly, I first looked to the ones who were local as of course they are going to be optimal. When I found one that was local (or actually already in the process of becoming local in this case), we talked over the phone. Now.. once I ascertained that this person was a fairly good match in certain areas and wanted to continue to see where it went, I took myself "off the market" per se. The reason being that I did not want to give anyone false hopes as I gave my concentration to building the relationship with the one who I was initially interested in. To me this is called consideration. Not naivete or stupidity or assholery or whatever other title you might find fits.  Some of us just get lucky and find what we are looking for quickly. But understand, even though I found my match quickly here... I had been looking for over a year to find him. I just didnt realize this was where he was hiding LOL.

Good luck in your search!

enigmabrat -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 1:50:43 PM)

LordTemporal -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 2:08:03 PM)

I don't think that the writer of the original post was referring to those that are already owned, when they sign up here...quite frankly, I've seen the same thing as he has...people that start a profile..a profile that plainly states that they are seeking...and you write them a note, they respond back, stating they are already owned.   I see this as an issue on this and other lifestyle sites, but I don't worry too much about it.  After all, it's the subs place to ask the questions, to make sure they are dealing with an honorable person, if they don't care enough about themselves to take the time and make the effort, they deserve the problems that will arise from it.

I've written a short essay about the problem from my perspective...it's on the journal on my profile...and I'll leave you all with just two thoughts.  First, on the internet, one cannot be one's brothers or sisters keeper...and secondly...man, oh man..that is some tie.

LT

enigmabrat -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 2:17:14 PM)

honestly the subs that do that you are better off without because in MY OPINION if a sub does that then there is some emotional issues there!!

Kree -> RE: This is annoying and just bothers me (6/26/2006 4:09:59 PM)

I am amazed that someone can ask a serious question and be held up to ridicule for his tie and his posture.  Perhaps we should dedicate 40% of every thread to a critique of the spelling, grammar, appearance, and apparel of each person who posts a question.  My guess is that we would have a lot fewer questions to consider and a great many people with hurt feelings.  Oh, wait, I forgot the 20 pages of flame wars that would ensue, so I guess we would find something funny to read after all.
