Status: offline 		I dont get how people sign up and are owned the next day or even before.  Do they just take whoever emails them first?  Do they not undertake any discussion with potential Owners/Dominants?  Are people that truly naive about this world?  It really frustrates me to see people who are "owned" after being on here one day.  It really calls into question the nature of some of the Owners/Dominants here and lack of knowledge for people new to this world and makes me feel bad for the submissives and pissed at the idiots here.

Status: offline 		Regarding those  that state that...don't you realize a lot of people on here are a bit out there....they lie on profiles and are so needy they will say anything..really..don't believe everything Your read...a lot of it is in their minds and they take some email sequence or IM session to some ultimate that in the end will crash and burn..real things take time. Not trying to be negative but just realistic.

Status: offline 		Ok, let me explain why *I* might have appeared to have found a Dom when I first arrived here on May 1.  Guess what?  I had had a Dom for four months before I signed onto collarme.  There are lots of ways that Doms and subs get together.  Just because someone appears to be brand new to collarme does not mean that they are brand new to the lifestyle.  Also people sometimes create a new user name when they become owned by a Dom.  So it might make it appear that they have just arrived when they have really been around collarme for awhile under a different name.
 
But I agree with you that some people take the concept of ownership lightly.  I have an online sub friend who used to speak of her Master in disrespectful terms.  I asked her how long she had known him before he became her owner and she said three days online. 
"Three days?  How did you know he was your Master after three days?"
"Because he said so."
Needless to say, relationships like that tend to end as suddenly as they begin.
 
But not everyone who seems to be brand new and already owned is flaky like that.
 
(Edited to add:  I was writing my post before seeing Ninasharp's, who made one of the same points.)

Anyway yeah a lot of those you see that seem to get collard the day they arive in fact really only have just changed thier name.... but also keep in mind just as many are niieve and do exept a collar from someone they meet their first day and say oh now im owned!!

Status: offline 		There's always the possibility the person in question is saying they are owned to exit the situation of being pursued wtihout having to offer another explanation.  (Of course I don't have that problem because nobody pursues me, lol).  

My two cents anyway.

Status: offline 		There are some people who are so easily led that they are wiiling to give control to the first Bozo that claims he has a right to it. They chat with a man, talk on the phone. He gives her some orders, she feels she needs to obey. He says,"you're mine now. Don't talk to any other man without my permission. Write in your profile that you are owned by me and don't even touch yourself unless I tell you to." Sound crazy? These are things I've heard from subs some of whom hadn't even met the guy. Sadly when they did meet and he looked nothing like his picture, things didn't work out. Also some women will use a line like that as a way to get you to move on because they aren't interested in you. So do what I do and wish them and their new Master the best of luck.

Well, i can't speak for everyone, but i have been on collarme a lot longer than my join date suggests. i changed my name and my profile to reflect both my growth and for some personal reasons. So for some, perhaps they have been around longer than their join date suggests...

Status: offline 		I think some people are just so desperate to find what they crave, that some will go with just anyone just to try and make it happen. Its sad and very rarely does it work out. BDSM relationships, like all relationships build over time.

I have belonged to Master for 3 years now; yet only have just recently been asked by him to join this site. Not all come here as free; some come as already part of a relationship.
