Minnesota regularly has these kinds of issues. Sadly 100+ is why I left both TX & M N. Did learn quite clearly while in manysnowda the actual temperature of "colder than a witches tit" is actual temp of -40 with a cross wind.

As far as the OP goes . . . holy shit. I can't imagine not being able to get to the kitchen from the bedroom because an iceberg was in the way . . . fuck that!

I was born on the road, in route to Florida. Raised here first 5 years. Lived up north in my teens/20s, Detroit. It was cold as hell. Came back to Florida in 1997. Never going back up north. My ex moved back up to Michigan last year to be near family. I talked to her over the winter and she said it was 20 below zero . . . my dick fell off just thinking about that.

I live in the S.W of England & I've been snowed in a few times, but, that is bad!

Weather conditions can and do get violent everywhere. When I was stationed at Keesler AFB, MS, I found much better reasons to avoid the south as if it were an AIDS-infected hooker.

oh I dunno.. California has houses that are "sinking" (& we arent talking cuz of the mortgage/housing crisis),.. there are huge killer snails in Texas.. and giant rats are madly eating Louisiana.. and so on..

I was in NOLA 6 months after Katrina helping out. The mold stink in the Lower 9th was incredible. Old family homes with no insurance...

Everywhere has it bad weather and tragedies, but, at least here if you escape in yer undergarmets, you won't get frostbite!

Of course, the skeeters might eat ya alive, but....,.
