LMAO!! This picture is a statement likening Bloomberg's Administration to either Fascism, or to it being dictatorial. Be honest about it. It isn't a religious thing, though. That has nothing to do with it.

Sadly, if Beck had cast Bloomberg in a Mugabe-esque pose, the race card would have been played. Hitler was chosen because it was absolutely easy to make the connection and is likely the easiest of the modern dictators to swap Bloomberg's head in for.

Tasteful? Not at all.

Correct? Depends on why Hitler was chosen.

Now, if you simply forgot to put [8D] in there to show you're sarcasm, well, then... keep moving, nothing to see here... lol

reckon ya mistook my point bud coz i was saying it aint close enough to be a nazi salute. tha armband makes it look like a dictator but tha thumb outstretched & non rigid arm makes it less a nazi 1.

jlf1961 -> RE: Glen Beck strikes again.... (5/8/2013 5:55:04 AM)

No I got your point, and I agree.

Junk Food Junkies of NYC Unite and overthrow the healthy eating despot!!

That really does not sound as dramatic as I thought it would.

No, I didn't mistake your point. I thought your distinctions were petty, thus the sarcasm part would have been on point.

The armband clearly has a heart on it, too. And, Bloomberg's head doesn't include the Hitler-stache.

That isn't the point, anyway. You don't have to have a perfect representation to convey the meaning. Do you get on a kid's back about their drawing of a Christmas tree because they failed to draw in the needles?

I love how anything in opposition to the progressive agenda has become "extremist"... The left sure does love their catchphrases and talking points.

The NRA are no more extreme than Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, or PBS.

Could you make some sort of stab at backing that up?

PP has acepted various restrictions to providing reproductive health care right up to the point where the laws either force the clinics to close or violate the already established law of the land.

The ACLU simply defends the civil rights of all Americans no matter how distasteful their use of those rights may be.

PBS extreme? Because they don't fellate Roger Ailes?

FunCouple5280 -> RE: Glen Beck strikes again.... (5/8/2013 12:27:26 PM)

He has nothing. The ACLU is benign, pp isn't nearly that political and PBS, well that is a stretch to say the least. The only liberal organizations I can think of are more like: PETA, ALF, maybe NARAL

well ya did a good impression of someone misunderstanding tha point coz you were arguing as if i was saying tha opposite. i dont reckon tha distinctions r petty to folks familiar wit tha nazi salute tho i accept thats a matter of opinion.

yr entitled to yr opinion but i reckon beck was aware of tha issue coz he was criticised for nazi analogies b4. its common to use tha motifs of dictators for political satire. bloomberg shouldnt be exempt tho explicit nazi references are below tha belt.

Moonhead -> RE: Glen Beck strikes again.... (5/8/2013 6:08:25 PM)

Are the ALF all that liberal? It's worth remembering that there's quite a political spectrum in the green movement, and as many of the more radical groups lean to the right on other issues as to the left.

LookieNoNookie -> RE: Glen Beck strikes again.... (5/8/2013 6:09:55 PM)

All environmental groups that don't carry guns as a fetish object are left wing, didn't you know that?

Ah, another neocon oversimplification based on prejudice rather than observation. I was forgetting about that crap. My bad.

Is is everyone else`s fault that the lunatic fringe is so naughty?[:D]

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/05/new-nra-president-jim-porter-knocked-fake-president-obama/

"The NRA has a new president, Birmingham, Ala., attorney Jim Porter, and he has a knack for firing up a crowd if his old stump speeches are any indication.

Porter, who until this week was first vice president at the NRA and chairman of the group’s Legal Affairs Committee, will officially take over for David Keene at the group’s annual convention this weekend in Houston. The NRA’s executive vice president and CEO, Wayne LaPierre, has headed the organization since 1991, and has become a somewhat controversial but public face of the organization in recent months.

"It’s no surprise that Porter, whose father was an NRA president in the late 1950s, is well-versed in NRA doctrine, namely protecting 2nd Amendment rights at all costs.

And anyone expecting the NRA to soften on assault weapons would be, well, deeply disappointed.

Indeed, Porter, 64, has put it in crystal-clear terms: He believes the NRA was founded to teach civilians how to use military-style weapons in the Civil War era.

“That was the very reason they started the national rifle association, was to teach and train the civilian in the use of the standard military firearm,” Porter said at the New York Rifle & Pistol Association’s Annual Meeting in 2012. “And I am one who still feels very strongly that that is our greatest charges that we could have today is to train the civilian in the use of the standard military firearm, so when they have to fight for their country, they’re ready to do it.

“Also when they’re ready to fight tyranny, they’re ready to do it. Also when they’re ready to fight tyranny, they have the wherewithal and the weapons to do it,” Porter added.

The video of the meeting was first unearthed by the Education Fund to Stop Gun Violence.

Speaking of a fight, Porter also noted that the Civil War is commonly mislabeled in the North.

“Y’all might call it the Civil War, but we call it ‘the war of northern aggression’ down South,” Porter said.

In that same speech, Porter also made it clear that there’s no love lost between the NRA and President Obama, whom he called a “fake president.”

.............. But we don't do that because evidently, it's a violation of people's civil rights to tell them they can't spend government money on garbage.

Which explains government spending on both sides of the aisle.

In IL we DO do that. Every grocery store has stickers by items that are "WIC (Food stamps) Approved".

This thread is already 2 pages or more long, don't know if someone pointed this out yet.
