If these women have been held against thier will, who knows what a terrible experience they must have had. I wish them a full recovery.

I just now posted a thread on this. Okay, who hit post first? lol

One of the girls mothers died of heart failure and friends and family say she died of a broken heart. So very sad. Thankfully, a new neighbor wasn't afraid to get involved!

When I saw the topic title, I was thinking that they were being held outside the country.

Given the circumstances, this does not surprise me in the least. Remember the Dugard girl?

Besides, if anyone paid attention to some of the sub/slave profiles, there are a number of people selling Asian slaves to the US market.

Some of the family members are on CNN right now.

Addition... the guy that got Amanda out is named Charles and his interview was worth watching. What a dude. Cracked me up. Thankfully there are people like him out there.

Another addition... they just showed Amanda and apparently her daughter in the hospital. Amazing! Somebody get the tissue out...

She died after eff'ing Montel and Sylvia Browne got her on the show and told her that her daughter ( the one just rescued) was definitely dead.

How could you prove that she knew it was fraud and wasn't deluded like many others that the whispers from her unconscious were actually information from other beings?

Yes, I believe all three women were abducted because he offered them a ride (although it didn't say if he was in a bus, or a car). But I believe some of the women knew him as a bus driver (?) Regardless, he has been working as a bus driver until quite recently. The women also have told authorities there were other women there at other times (but who are obviously no longer there - and who knows whether still alive or not). Anyone with missing female relatives in the Cleveland area within the last decade needs to contact the police.

There is also a 6 year old child (the daughter of one of the captives) was was found along with the three women. Heartbreaking.

Attorney Robert Ferreri said Figueroa “has full custody with no visitation for [Castro]. Nevertheless, [Castro] frequently abducts daughters and keeps them from mother.’’

Castro denied that he was ever abusive, but the allegations made it that much harder to see his daughters. So, it appears, he kidnapped their pals so he could beat and rape them with impunity. His daughters were friends with both Berry and DeJesus; Arlene Castro actually told America's Most Wanted that she was the last person to see DeJesus, her "best friend and classmate," alive.

...we care very much about pretty adolescent girls who disappear into thin air. As we should, of course. But we should also care about men who abuse their wives and children before they go out and find replacements to hide in the basement.
