Have you found that since you began your personal journey in the BDSM lifestyle, that you have also started to do things that you wouldn't have normally done in a numdane life, such as getting a Tattoo or Body modification?

Noper and actually a lot of my favorite toys came from the days when I had horses. So basically before I ever got into leather I actually owned more leather than I have now. Figure THAT one out

hahaha The Rose that's funny:)

Yes.  A couple of months ago, I got my first ever permanent piercing for an earing.

On the 8th of July, to celebrate my 51st birthday and Desert Dominion repealing it's rule against body modifications, I'm getting a PA and both nipples pierced.

KnightofMists -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/23/2006 9:18:14 PM)

nope

mistoferin -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/23/2006 9:20:30 PM)

I have tattoos and body mods....but I would still have gotten them done in "mundane" life.

I'm not into BM, but i do dress differently than my pre-BDSM days. [:)]

Not resulting with anythig to do with BDSM other than a deep interest in Shibari, Needle Play and CBT, the greatest change has come via the Gorean lifestyle whereby I automatically mentally catagorise all women into potential Free and salve and look at the nubile wenches displaying bare midrifts whilst shopping and oft comment to Neets that they would look best kneeling naked at my feet.... Fereral and State laws being what they are, rather preclude me from doing anything about the situation but it is a somewhat joyous vision and thought.... Who knows were I able to act on my thoughts, I may become alike the dog who finally after years of chasing cars catches one. This then poses a question. What should he do with the car? Should he bite the tires? Or should he piss on the wheels? I'm sure you all can figure out the dilema if the analogy is converted to slaves girls being caught.....I do not bite feet or ankles nor piss on them unless I am blind drunk....

FangsNfeet -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/23/2006 10:15:44 PM)

I never joined the life style. BDSM joined me as I continue to be myself. I was being sadistic long before I heard the term S&M.

So what are you getting at? Are you asking if we would be different without BDSM? Well, the answer is yes. After all, would we be different without religion/beliefs? Anytime you take out a fraction of someones perspective/beliefs, they're going to be different in how they are now.

Where is Benji when there is a good (or bad as the case may be) dogie question?

hizgeorgiapeach -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/23/2006 10:36:36 PM)

With the possible exception of getting spanked and whipped to the point of bruises, there's pretty much nothing in my current lifestyle that I can say with any surity that I would Not have done if I hadn't learned about BDSM.

I had a thing for leather before I knew what the concept of Kink was.  I wanted various body mods before I learned about BDSM - it simply took me a long time to get around to actually getting any of them done.  (I kept making the mistake of dating guys that had serious objections to women having Ink - so I kept putting off getting mine to make them happy.  These days, if they can't handle the fact that I have ink and intend to continue getting it, I show them the door and tell them to have a nice life.)

I don't dress any differently.  I don't view body mods any differently.  I still love leather.  I don't particularly Act any differently.  Yep - much like Fangs - I didn't join the lifestyle, it joined me while I continued to be me.

becca333 -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/23/2006 10:38:38 PM)

It made me braver.  I've made choices that I'd have turned away from before.  And it's made me more at peace with myself.

But no tatts, and no more piercings yet - just the ears, and that was a long time ago.  I'd love to get a tattoo, but I can't think of anything I'd want forever, I like to change things regularly.  What we need are tattoos that fade after about five years, so you can get new ones.

TolerableCruelty -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/23/2006 10:45:19 PM)

I had tattoos before... I've gotten them since... I'll get more later, I'm sure.

All the tattoos do is paint a slight reflection of a moment in My life.

Most of my tattoos came before exploration in this "lifestyle", as well as my piercings.  The one area that I can see that has been influenced, would be my general attitude and the way I carry myself.

I used to give a lot of links to old posts (thread jerking) like LA does now. That was when i had more time to spend on CM. Now my time is limited here so i'm not able to that as much. I want to thank LA for taking over that job. Back then the mods gave special titles to a few of us and when i quit doing it they changed mine to "retired".[:)]

feastie -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/24/2006 12:01:37 AM)

Nope, no body mods.  I have distinct and personal distaste for them, on anyone.  I have a friend who got one nipple pierced.  I always ask him to leave the ring at home when he comes to visit.  It's a major turn off for me.

same here.... tats are addictive, I've gotten another since my profile pic was taken in April, and have several more on the drawing board. I'll skip other kinds of body mods, though...

ExistentialSteel -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/24/2006 12:52:12 AM)

I'm not into tattoos or body modification, but I did start weight lifting/body building when I got into BDSM. I think it is vaguely related.

JessieMe -> RE: Lifestyle changes... (6/24/2006 5:26:03 AM)

For me, permanent piercings are a very difficult concept for me. When Master Steven indicated he may want my nipples pierced I froze. I mean.. I literally froze. This is the first relationship in which I have identified as slave. (and I have no problems with that.. with Him.. I am slave) He has been working on preparing me mentally and physically for the piercings and its been interesting as I go through the preparations and am just about ready to say.. "Master may we please get this done?" Not that it is up to me, because it is not. Just that I may be of that mindset that I am ready to do so even before he decides it is time.
