Status: offline 		Does anybody recognise [mod edit to remove usename] they contacted me very quickly and wanted to "train me" asking me to add them on yahoo or skype.. But their profile here does not seem to exist. can people without a profile find you and send personal messages>>?

Status: offline 		The profile is probably hidden. If I were you, I'd be very wary of someone that wants to immediately take you on and wants you to go on Skype or Yahoo IM.

And it's against TOS, to list a member's name in your post.

A nice Mod is going to come along, move your post to the proper forum, remove the proper screen name of another poster, and send you nice letters to explain why that isn't allowed here.

As for the rest, this place is pretty much like everywhere else on the internet. Keep your personal information to yourself and don't provide those types of information that others can use to find our your name, address, etc. Anybody can send a CM mail to any individual who either a) has a visible profile or b) has made a forum post. (Most folks who don't use the forums aren't aware of b.) A person can keep their profile hidden and still send and receive messages.

Status: offline 		In general, if someone messages you asking you to go direct to a private messenger or skype address, you can bet they're either a scammer after your mail address to spam you or hack your account, or else going to ask you for money. Usually they will have a hidden profile and a picture of a pretty young woman professing to be a domme. Unless you are totally effing gorgeous/rich/or hunglikeahorse, no good looking domme - or even an ugly one - is going to bother mailing you - or me, dammit! The genuine dommes are too busy sorting out all the mail they receive each day to need to send out messages to any blokes on the site. Ignore it, or try mailing back to say you'd prefer to talk initially on CM till you know they're genuine. All best wishes to you.

It's possible that their profile has been removed, if they've been attempting to scam a lot of people and come to the attention of site admin.

Edit: you need to take the username out of your journal entry too. Aside from it being against the rules, at the moment you're advertising that you don't know much about scams and making yourself more of a target for the rest of the scammers. This will happen to you more than once on the internet. Block and delete.

Or...many of the scammers only leave the profiles up for 24 - 48 hours. Then close the account and start a new one.
