This isn't quite a rant. More like an exposition of something I should have seen before but just realized.
On the other site, photos can have commentary. Lately there've been a few men who posted pics stolen from the web and claimed that the pics were theirs, and gotten busted for it. The most recent one went like this.
Some idiot in his later fifties posted a pic of a lovely woman in her 20s with a freshly reddened caboose leaning over with her hands on a mantel. The caption was "I reddened Marie's bottom when I found out she had overdrawn her credit card." Erica Scott, who's been an active on-screen spanko for some 20 years, happened on the pic and sniped that it was not some woman named Marie, but Sierra Salem, a pro spanking model. The idiot stupidly acknowledged that, yes, it was her, but that her real name was Marie. She replied that her real name was NOT Marie, and that nobody with an ounce of sense would out a pro's real name publicly like that.
He tried to state that he had permission from Dallas, her acknowledged SO/spanker, to play with her. Naturally, Dallas himself commented that he did NOT share Sierra with anyone, and had no clue who the idiot was.
By this time, the whole mess was showing up in people's feeds, and many were commenting. Plenty of ridicule. Jeffff the anteater (remember him?) and I began speculating that the fireplace was gas, the Hawaiian postcard was fake, the credit card wasn't in her real name, the stack of DVDs were pirated, etc. Tony Trystero, one of the prominent spankos in the scene joked that he never got away with it when he introduced himself as Richard Windsor, another well-known spanko. Basically, the guy was exposed to ridicule from all sides.
Throughout all this, the pic remained up, and more and more people were happening on it and realizing the idiot was a lying fraud. Many stopped to make fun of him. I couldn't understand why he didn't simply delete the pic and its commentary.
And then it hit me. He didn't know how. Something that any intelligent person could instinctively do in a few seconds, was beyond him.
The guy had lied and cheated his whole life. He'd gotten out of learning how to do things by lying his way out of them. He'd gotten where he was by screwing others and taking credit for stuff he never did. And suddenly, when he had to figure something trivial out for himself, it took a full day for him to do something that you and I would have done instinctively.
Wow.
