Who are the "real Five" (its kinda like the Fantastic Four...and I get to be The Thing!  But I digress...).  Well, I can't disclose that, but I can tell you that one group are us bearded guys over 40...in fact Gauge, Iron Bear, me....we are all the same and let me tell you it is exhausting to have to post from Chicago and then get my ass down under and post from there and then get to Pennsylvania and post from there.  Day after day.

I missed it. Who lives in Chicago?  I grew up on the South Side.

I know I've either seen you in a James Bond movie as the villian, or else in a deoderant commercial....

(even if I had, that wouldn't necessarily make you a phoney.... you'll have to keep trying!)

People We speak with are 99.99 percent total liars. game players and wankers.

Well now... it would seem that someone better put on their asbestos underwear because it is going to get a little hot in here. How can you call 99.9% of people you meet liars and posers and then indicate that 0.01% are real? Lets do some math shall we? Say Collarme has 100,000 members and 0.01% are real. That comes to 1000 real people. The rest are slime sucking toadies that have nothing better to do than deceive others.

Ahh .. no offense Guage, but my "math-o-meter": went off with your math.  I was hoping someone else would take the bait ... but ... here I go ...

100% of 100,000 = 100,00
10% of 100,000 = 10,000
1% of 100,000 = 1,000
.1% of 100,000 =  100
.01% of 100,000 = 10

Therefore, there are actually 10 "real" people here on, CM according to the OP, which is double the last realistic estimate accordint to Emperor1956.

Dear isanyonereal, Ladies and Gentlemen;

Being one that is older than over the hill, to be under the hill per se, I can feel at ease speaking about Want to Be types, Game Players and or Liars.

Sure, there are plenty of Want-to-Be types.  It goes back to when you and or anybody else for that matter began and wanted to be included, accepted and given a chance.  If it wasn't for senior members of the community to give a hand up, invest in others --it wouldn't be so popular , progressive and or open.

Just because a person wants to be-- regardless if Master, Mistress and or slave, Dominant and or submissive and or Switch; that is not just cause to cause a tirade upon the whole board and or community, to which disrespects any and all, who with good intent are starting their journey in the lifestyle.  What has my concern, is that the compassion, patience, respect and the tenor of the lifestyle that once was practiced in the mid 1970s is absent.  Most telling for a few of us.  I am of the memories, when our dominant words were carefully said, as not to recklessly affect others as well as to embarrass ourselves.

In my mind's eye; to be so unkind in a way as to judge other's profiles without facts and or independent witnesses that can vouch for other's profiles as being 'false' and or 'misleading,' is not something that I recall was done so by others.  Being of the community, it would be just as unkind to make false statements about your profile, without the evidence or the circumstances that lead reasonable individuals to believe the facts or statements to be true or un-true.  What would be in the many minds when they read such, perhaps would as who appointed you and or anybody else for that matter, as judge, jury and adjudicate justice on any individual based upon profiles alone.

Perhaps you might not have considered why people behave in such a manner contrary to your personal 'tastes' and 'observations.'  Perhaps you do not account for individuals in different time zones, that work different shifts, that are care givers, that are between slaves and or
Masters/Mistresses and or submissives/dominants.  Perhaps you do not account for those who lost their other half and or some other tragedy; so they have more time to computers and forums.  Perhaps you do not consider that some individuals delight in interactions with others, without expectations and or with expectations to learn, share, heal, seek comfort, seek support and or seek 'the one or more.'  Perhaps you do not consider those who race around the country, representing the leather community and champion those who have no voice or show compassion by holding a banner to a worth cause.  Perhaps you have not considered those who travel as to share techniques, knowledge and skills to other groups outside their own little area.

In reading your initial post, I don't have as much time in the scene as you however, I remember the manners of the years following.  This is why I am so sad for you.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

Meh.  Any publicity is good publicity.

Thanks for letting me know.

I so agree with you, out of every 100 people that my wife and I get e-mails from only 1 out 100 are really interested or experienced, the rest are wannabes or wankers. We have been involved in D/s for over 25 years each, we have been married fro 20 years and still going strong.  We have belonged to BDSM groups such as OPEX in Orlando, so we do know a lot of people in the lifestyle. We can tell pretty quickly the real people from the wankers.

I stand by my number.  WE know.  IronBear is watching.  5 real people....well, 6 if you divide the conjoined twins.

Generally - who cares.  i prefer others who are game players, liars and wannabee's to be easily spotted.  Helps me steer clear of them better.  So let them unite, form a union and get a support group.  Atleast i dont waste anymore time then i already have on them.

Personally - i'd rather be thought of as a game player, liar or wannabe.  Hell i dont even care if ppl miss judge me or label me wrong.  Why?  Cos it helps keep "me" on the down low and unless previously authorized, people dont have the priviledge of knowing me.  Lets me get to know them, before they get to know me.  So i can decide if i want that person in my life before i open myself up to them.  So i can decide which information about myself they are allowed to know.  Or i can decide they're not worth my time and be happy i didnt allow them to get to know me.

And for those that do become worth my time.. its not hard to correct their thinking.  Generally i'm a very honest, blunt and i only mince words when i dont want speak anyone to know what i'm really speaking about.  I've realised lately, that i've actually a paper trail.  (i'm a pack rat)  And i've saved something from almost everything.  Every letter, every card, things here and there (like a peep hole) and something from all most every part of the world i've been in.  On top of that, i've a general rule.  "Before you accuse me of something, make sure you have proof"  Pretty much because there is no proof and it'll save others from looking like an asshole.

Though i do tend to be guilty of lying to save some one elses ass.  Aka backing them up.  Which i dont particularly like and if it becomes a repeated experience it pisses me off.  As i dont like backing up "wrong"  Being dishonest is wrong to me.  So.
