A winter's apple is so crunchy,
full of juice.
oh so munchy,
oh winter apple! Is it silly,
for me to want you
to suck my willy?

O Sweet Sir!

Thou doth pierce my very soul
I willst fall to my knees
And doeth as I was told.

Well, I'd say we've presented a crushing pro-poetry argument!

On the other hand, in a college Shakespeare class I got a B+ for handing in a 14 line sonnet instead of a 5 page paper.

Awesome! And I don't use that word lightly.

Two quick thoughts:

(a) The thread title brings to mind James Michener's reference to "the usual bad poetry a young man writes." I remember laughing out loud when I read that because, alas, I've cranked out my share.

(b) Poetry is so varied that it's hard to imagine crafting an opinion of it that covers everything.

Not only that, Br Level, I think we also made the world just a little bit beautifuller.
