Uh, have I ever mentioned I was on the very edge of being socially acceptable crazy?

LOL, JLF. Should you come to power, I'd have to accept the deal, but you'll forgive me if I place a bit more faith in the last lotto ticket I picked up.

I don't think my mother-in-law ever pegged me as the Antichrist, though the rather large tattoo on my upper left arm freaked her out a bit, until I provided her with the backstory on it. She likes me fine, now, and makes fantastic soup, though I have zero success in persuading her to stay off her damn roof.

I've never been Catholic, and honestly don't have much interest at all in the doings of the Vatican. If they are right in their beliefs, then I do hope there will be a special corner in Hell for every priest who's ever abused their flock, and every person above them, who let it slide.

This report, to get back towards the topic, doesn't strike me as anything more than another lurid example of how power corrupts. But it IS lurid, and there are a lot of people that care more than I about the Holy Church in Rome, so I expect it will be a bit of a thing.

Check me on something, though, if you know. Couldn't any Pope be considered Peter Romanus?

Not really, and as for the prophecies, I have a problem with equating this pope as the the glory of the olive.

For one thing, in biblical terms the olive was always a symbol of peace, and this pope really did nothing to further the cause of peace, and IMO did more to cause the discontent of people around the world toward the church once his history was known.

In addition to the Cardinal in Los Angles who faces demonstrations, and petitions against his being part of the conclave to select the next Pope over his coverups, on recent news the Cardinal of England also faces charges he attempted to have sex with various priests among others, and which might prevent him from going to Rome.

Maybe they are playing last man standing with the winner becoming the next Pope.
