I have to go in every week for monitoring and ultra sound. Today I thought it was odd that her heartbeat was on the other side instead of her usual place. I went to ultra sound and the tech was looking frustrated and finally said where is her head. That was not something I wanted to hear. She found it up by my ribs. She had been head down since 32 weeks and moved sometime this week. I am 37 weeks now and considered full term. From what I have read they do not give much hope for babies turning if they are term but heck she turned this week, she could spin right back to head down, right.

One of my stepkids was breech, and they just massaged her back into place. The doctors are used to it, you'll be fine, and so will she!

Ask her to, and trust that she will, present herself in properly in time for birthing. She just might accommodate you.

I'm sure your doctors have dealt with this before so I'm sure everything will be alright. I've heard of babies turning on their own right before they are due.

Just take it easy and relax.

Right.

I know it's easy for me to say but try not to worry too much. Some babies turn at the last minute. Some head-down babies turn at the last minute too. On the plus side you have some advanced warning now so you can read up on your options and recovery if you have to elect for a c-section.

My daughter was head down from about 26 weeks but didn't engage. She managed to partially turn well in to labour when I was almost fully dilated and I pushed for four hours before I had a c-section. And you know what? It was still just fine. I was well taken care of, everything was fine, I was up on my feet the same night and off the painkillers by day 3.

So yes, there's still hope, but try not to panic too much anyway. A c-section is as safe as it has ever been and not something to worry about.

Just because your child may not turn for delivery doesn't mean that you will lose her. Breeches are so uncommon that doctors don't know what to do.

I'm sure that even if your little one comes into the world a bit backwards, she will be fine.

You have my prayers that you will not stress yourself out too much over this. Sometimes, searching for answers on the internet will just cause unnecessary worry. Talk to your doctor, decide on a plan of action. Then rest and get ready to welcome your little bundle. Because once she comes, sleep is just a thing of the past, lol.

Everything will be fine. The baby should turn back around or if push comes to shove, the doctor will perform a c-section. Lizard was the same way until the final week when she did manage to right herself. You know when she is in the right position by the way she is kicking your ribs (and getting a heel stuck inbetween one).

My eldest was sposed to be breech, but they manipulated her a tad and she turned about 48 hours before I was induced...shes fine too.
Good luck hon, being worried sucks, but I would be more concerned if you were lazzez faire about it, huggs

Thanks you. I am not horribly stressed, more surprised. I was told once they turn head down they stay that way. I was on google and sometimes that is not the best place to be. I had to remind myself that some of the people do not know what they are talking about. I found a site called spinningbabies and they had some ways to try and encourage her to turn. One was putting my knees on the couch and my forearms on the floor. I could see myself getting stuck and my husband walking in the door with a what the hell are you doing look on his face.

I hope she turns, I do not want to have to wait hours to hold her after she is born but if not I know a C sect. is not the end of the world. My mom pointed out the bright side is I would not have to worry about making it to the hospital since I have a history of fast labor.

I held my daughter about 20mins after my section, might have been quicker but she needed an immediate test that was nothing to do with the delivery. Most places will let the birth partner hold the baby almost immediately if there's no problems so baby can still get cuddles.

More encouragement - my grandma was 5ft nothing, weighed 112lbs at 40weeks pregnant. She delivered 4 babies naturally, 2 of them breach and one over 10lbs. My grandad who is now 85 was born by c section in the 20s and his mama lived to old age. Women are tough. It sucks when your plans change last minute but one way or another you'll be snuggling that baby in less than a month.

Oh I thought it was here peek at your baby then that was all until a few hours later. I was so sad since I picked this hospital because they will let me keep my baby for as long as I want after delivery.

I should have expected it from this baby. She has been stubborn from the beginning. When she was still small enough to wiggle away she would do her best to hide from the heartbeat doppler. Every visit the doctor had to chase her around to get her heartbeat. It was almost funny how we would hear if for a second before I felt her wiggling around and he lost it. She wiggles when they need her to hold still but when we do the non stress tests she decides it's naptime. The nusre has this buzzer thing to wake her up and I will feel her jump then she snuggles back down to go to sleep. You can tell she is mine all right. :)

my son was in all sorts of positions right up until my waters broke. i was due on the sunday and had my last check on the wednesday before to be told that he wasn't due for another three weeks with how high he was. baring in mind that i knew the exact date that i concieved i knew this was a load of crap. my waters broke on the exact date i knew i was due, but the boy still wasn't engaged and didn't for another 12 hours. he was born the next morning. most of the time he was laid across the diaganal with he head under my left ribs and feet pressed out of the right hand side of my belly.

she has plenty of times to do all kinds of stuff yet

My sister's eldest spun like a top during the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy! On the day she was born we had a sweepstake as to which way up she was lol

But the sensible munchkin decided to give mum a break and got ready for the head-first dive into the world
