Not really.He was tortured and was hung by his backward bent arms by ropes till his ligaments were destroyed......he also never got his injuries treated in time to do anything about it. Fonda wan`t tortured. She has however acknowledged it was a mistake and has apologized to the POWs and their families. To my knowledge,the only folks dissing her nowadays are knuckle-draggers who never served in Viet Nam..........like uncle teddie.

I think the "helicopter rides" McCain endured is all the justification he NEEDS. Jane was a spoiled rich kid thumbing her nose at Dad. Torture in service of your country can be forgiven far more easily to me. On the other hand, McCain practically had to get his arm broken again to say that the US's "enhanced interrogation techniques" were torture. To me, that is far less forgivable, especially in light of his own torture.
