I know this post might be moved, but I wanted to remind folks that Lisa Ling's special into "The Real World of BDSM" comes on tonight, TWICE on OWN.

It is airing at 10pm here on the East Coast.

It looks fascinating, it's gotten fairly good reviews and I can't wait to see it.

The show prior to the BDSM show is about swinging, and I am finding it rather entertaining.

Again, just a heads up for those that planned on watching the show, grab your popcorn!

I am wondering if anyone from CM will be on the show???

The difference between reading 50 shades of gray and living it!

drat I dont get that channel. I've seen the trailer and it does look interesting. I wonder if it will be available on Hulu.com?

Might be! At the very least I bet you can find clips from tonights show on you tube or on the OWN channel, by tomorrow.

I'm recording it on my DVR.

It might only be available on Hulu in the pay section, but it might be free. Try extratorrent.com. My friend taught me how to use it (shut up all you computer savvy people here who have been using it for eons, lol!). If you need help with that, post on the boards. I *might* be able to explain it, but I'm willing to bet dollars to doughnuts there are plenty here who could explain better than me.

Oh wait, I love doughnuts, so I might willingly give up the dollars!

So far, so good, considering this is OWN.
Very nice for prime time t.v.

I particularly enjoy listening to the kink friendly/BDSM therapist explain why her clients enjoy the lifestyle.

I am enjoying the show!

I'm not watching the show. Don't really have any desire to. I keep picturing it all being about spankings and prodommes. I did, however, read the site for Lisa Ling's show and this is part of what I found there about this story. It just made me cringe.

"No one judges in the world of BDSM, meaning there is nothing for which you could express desire that would make people balk. There is a kind of openness that I frankly, found very refreshing. Unlike the outside world where most of us have difficulty expressing things that excite us or are curious about, this is a world where one can be honest about just about anything. Openness and trust are key tenets of BDSM; things that one can't always find in the outside world."

Yeah, yeah....it's to make us look normal and safe and not freaky or whatever but imo it makes us seem even more like freaks because we seem less than human or that we just accept anyone....hey, wanna starve your wife until she's near death? That's ok with us! It's all good!

I totally understand why many "kinksters"might not want to watch the show, but I enjoyed watching it.

The BDSM kink friendly therapist stated at the very end, that despite books like "50 shades of grey", that most people involved in this lifestyle keep it a secret from most people.
The therapist admitted that the BDSM lifestyle is far from being accepted.

She compared the acceptance level to the gay lifestyle about 30 years ago. {Most were deep into the closet back then}.

I think the show was well done, and I think it was a mini-view into this lifestyle for those that are interested in a mini-view into the lifestyle.

I didn't like the therapist much at all. Basically because she made a comment that people who have vanilla sex stop because it gets boring. She is a sex therapist as well, and it came off (to me) as if she pushes people into trying kink when they have sexual issues. I just can't get on board with that. I've had "purely vanilla" relationships. While they ended, it wasn't because the sex got boring.
