Didn't want to overtax anyone. I chose Cowpens because Morgan took advantage of the elitist view that militias were useless against "real" soldiers

Now this.

As I said t is obvious that being English you know and understand our history much better than we could ever hope to

As for the snide comment about my being English....yes I really do know more than you. I even knew how to research and quote info using an American web site. I guess they had a different professor to you huh.

Sorry but there is no conflict between my two statements and no you don't know more than I do but thank you for proving my point about assumed superiority

Nothing assumed, just proven by your contradictory posts......harsh but fair methinks. Care to address my points about elitist views as per an American web sites content ? ......Thought not.

There were no contradictory comments on my part Morgan used the militia and the Butchers contempt for them to spring basically the same trap that William used at Hastings, fake panic to break up the enemy formation and gain the advantage. Niether the militia nor the Colonial regulars could take the British in a fight in open field with lines formed as was the norm of the day. So Morgan used a fake panic to alter the inviornment. Further I never said anything about your ability to point and click just your inability to comprehend the most basic tenents of military tactics. I can click all day about brain surgery, that doesn't mean I understand it.

This should be good for a laugh or two how do you excuse British regulars getting their tails kicked at Lexenton and Concord? Yes the militia lost at first trying to fight like the British but when they used their own style it became a matter of counting up British casualties.

Try and educate yourself. Morgan placed his militia so they could not run, he had no faith in them, as per a US web site.

You seem to make this more about me than your actual post. It was the fact you said Morgan thought the British were elitist, I simply pointed out why he placed his troops were he did. As well as the fact he had little faith in them.

He planned from the beginning to have them form were they did and fake a panic what is so hard to understand about that.

Noticed you don't have an excuse for what happened in Mass.

No this is hardly about you and I have no intent to make it about you.

The alternative to my assesment is
A. The militia was useless so
B, The outnumbered colonial regulars beat the best army in the world at the time at their own game.

I shall bow out Bama. You quite obviously feel I have no right speaking about the War of Independance, since you clearly stated I think I know more about your history than you.

I wont ask you who was King of America at the time, nor what Country he was ruled. I wont ask you how several American States came to be named after members of the Royal Family or after places in Britain. I wont ask you where the inspiration for Washingtons flag comes from. I wont ask you which army you were fighting, because obviously by your own admission, thats just American history.

Fuck it, I wont even ask you which language you speak, or where your ancestors probably came from, as again, none of that is part of British history.

No point me answering any questions on 1776 until the above sinks in.

The "bone" was gun-control, not the Second Amendment. Gun-control originated as a way to keep guns out of black hands.

K.

I don't think so. Slaves were not persons (or enough of one...3/5) and thus had no rights 'whiteman was bound to respect.'

Places were named after places people came from.
After 1776 We didn't have a king a fact finally recognized by England in 1783
Unlike George III I speak English and my ancestors came from Germany, and Scotland, that is the ones who weren't here when Columbus showed up.

Mr rodgers you clearly missed the first part of this thread were this myth was totally debunked, rather than repeat all that I refer you to the first part of this thread. The second part of your missunderstanding comes from the fact that gun control was a post Civil War development at which time the 3/5 clause had been made defunct by the end of slavery.

Not all places and not all States.........Georgia, Maryland, Carolina, Virginia.......all named after English Royals.

Psst, if you were not recognised by England until 1783, guess who was king until then...lets not forget not everyone wanted to break ties either.

George III was, Like me, born in London, that makes him English, he also spoke English.....

Your Scots ancestors were also descended from the original British Celts, much like the rest of us.

Want to try again ?

Note that both France and Spain recognized us well before the British admitted that the independence we declared in 76 was fact. Nationalist China still claimed mainland China well into the 70s by your logic that means that mainland China did not gain independence until that time, do you really want to defend that fantasy?

More bullshit. France didnt recognise Independance until 1778 and Spain didnt until 1783, this despite both fighting on your side.

Something your professor obviously forgot.

1778 much closer to 1776 than to 1783 5 years is well before the English admitted it. And you didn't respond to the China question.

Clearly, and this has been obvious since you ran off on this silly diversion that you are trying to covince me that the American Revolution is British history. Duh we had to revolt and beat someone it was the British. However it is only human nature that the best army in the world while trying to explain thier defeat would downplay the "amatures" and blame it on anything else, even the hated French.
Now what is your excuse for why the militias handed the British regulars thier heads at Lexenton and Concord particularly on that brutal march back to Boston.
