Ever watched a live DnD Game? Who is your FAVORITE CELEBRITY DnD GAMER??? And who was the worst!? Mine would have to be WIL WHEATON!!!! -Best Worst would be Sasha Grey- She didn't know what was happening!?

Real as in; offline table-top, tournament, play-testing, or LARP ? i can say yes to all but tournament, too many people in one place for my likes. e2a i think in D&D, celebrity statis only makes a difference when it comes time to order pizza.[;)]

I've played and ran tabletop games since 1980, played in the occasional tournament style game, and have done the rare LARP as part of NERO and Amtgard. I can say that I've never actually "watched" a live D&D game (regardless of who might be playing), because, truth be told, just watching and not participating is very boring.

I've played quite a few RPGs (not just D&D, but I've tried that one), but not recently. As for the notion of celebrity gamers: if Ian Livingstone or Steve Jackson don't count as celebs, then b listers who've namedropped their hobbies (or just a hobby that they think makes them look smart) can fuck right off.

"Celebrity" is dependent on the cult of personality: to anyone not in the gaming community the only name with any real fame might be Gary Gygax. Personally I couldn't care less who is playing the game, if I'm not playing I'm certainly not watching.

Actually, as far as celebrities go, I do quite like this story about Vin Diesel bullying people on film shoots into playing D&D: he's quite an imposing looking man, so that conjures up a very cute mental picture...
