Being new, I don't know where the answer lies - nor even where to ask the question.

Two sides of the same coin confuse me.
1. If I receive a red header on top of a message, saying that person has triggered this message, is that something that is permanent?
2. If I myself trigger that header, unknowing by, I presume sending too many mails, is that header retroactive or does it only go on future mails?

How does it work - or - more importantly - where is it explained how that works?

Hi phxgydnar. You might find more information regarding the spam filter here.

I think the red spam notice is retroactive, but one way to be sure is by going to your Sent mail folder
and hovering over the mails you previously sent, to see if it contains that message.

Welcome to the forums.

The spam filter is triggered when someone sends out a lot of emails withing a given time period.
The notice appears for a period of time then stops.

I get those messages all the time. I was wondering what they meant.

Do they go away in my received mail?

Or do they stay forever?

When you send out more than a certain amount of messages during a specific period of time.
Your message trigger the spam filters.
So they will show up with that message above them.
After a period of time if you aren't posting emails they stop appearing when you send out emails.

From what I've seen.

Basic rule of thumb:
Sending identically worded emails to more than 25 people in a day is desperate, tacky & not likely to work...especially once all 25 see the spammer message.

If this message is a recurring thing...there are bigger problems afoot

Funny thing about women is we want to hear why us? See something that shows you actually read our profile...not just saw female & sent the identical "hi, are you interested in me?(Without revealing anything about yourself)", some 2 line nothing that says nothing about you or her or the local favorite "on your knees bitch"
