5 yrs in Prison??? $10,000.00 fine????/ Shame!!!! He needs to be applauded!! Make this go viral!! Share!!!

This is messed up

Valley marine calls himself to duty at an Elementary school. Sgt. Craig Pusley wears his desert camo fatigues...no weapons...just him. Took it upon himself to go to the nearby school and stand watch outside. The school loved it. The principal thanked him. No pay..no breaks...just his heart felt need to do this. His reward? Marine Corp Reservists says he violated protocol bt wearing his fatigues and not his dress uniform in public. Facing $10,000 fine and 5 years in prison. Also getting a "dishonorable" stamp on his "honorable" discharge. He served 2 tours in iraq, in Baghdad and Ramadi. One in Helmand province of Afghanistan before leaving active duty.

Now he is writing a letter to the President apoligizing for his actions.

WAKE UP! This man is a wonderful outstanding brave hero in my book and to think for a second that his heart felt need to go stand in front of his little neighborhood school was wrong. Screw you! The President should be sending him a Thank you letter.

So I salute you Sgt. Craig Pusley. Thank you!

First thought to my mind in reading this is;

What kind of rule of law exists when someone can just unilaterally take it upon himself to both interpret and implement the law by his own inclination? We have such things in movies all the time, but that's what fantasy is for.

But immediately following that observation was another more troubling question;

What kind of message does it send to our children when they see their place of education being 'protected' by the military (as such instance as this would unavoidably appear in their minds)? A daily reminder that their school is a potential war zone? That association of learning with fear is not something I think would be a healthy association for the kids. How much deeper into 'third world' territory do we want to get, here?

Not something I would want my kids to see at all, much less then to take as normal the background fear instilled by such a sight being considered as concomitant with learning math and reading.

THAT is messed up.

What's scarey is that the teachers and principal all ALLOWED this guy to "guard" the school. It doesn't sound like they looked at his credentials or did a background check or anything at all. for all they knew, he was just standing there waiting for the right time to shoot everyone up and they allowed it by allowing him to "protect" the children.

I'm not sure who is more stupid....the man or the teachers and principal.

Yup. This.

My bet is that they're all fucking idiots.

Isn't this a contemporary problem in western society, fantasy being mistaken for reality? Its pretty much been a prominent part of politics for at least a 30 years, Reagan, Thatcher, Bush, Blair etc and less harmfully in Clinton. When our leaders are fantasists, it is hardly surprising such dysfunction filters down through society.

Ah yes, this speaking of the "efficient market hypothesis," which in effect claims that economic, and even political Darwinism is the only path to furtherance of mankind.

The media promote this notion on a daily basis, even if too stupid to know what they are actually saying. Their participation in the 30 yr. jihad against regulation of any sort and therein effectively against democracy hasn't slowed in the least, even in having indisputable evidence the total and utterly destructive failure of this doctrine.

It is still beyond me how the ideology that led to the current crisis is being promoted as the solution to the crisis and the media doesn't even question it.
