So today I had a particularly rude person send me messages, most of it seemed to be non-sensical idiocy based around me allegedly being a fake in her/his opinion, but that part wasn't much of a problem.

What she did bring up though was that apparently I breached rules in my profile, and proceeded to quote various parts of the ToS. From reading it, it seemed like a rather grey area in terms of whether I had or hadn't, so would like a third party opinion on the matter. - I've sent a message to Support, asking the same thing but received no reply.

1) In the ToS it says the following:

4.3. No Illegal Conduct Allowed: You will not use the Website in any manner inconsistent with any applicable laws or regulations. You may not include any personally-identifying information such as phone numbers, street addresses, Web site addresses, email addresses, Instant Messenger screen names, or any other information that if provided may be used to circumvent the Website's communication capabilities. You may not use the Website to advertise products or services, nor may You use the Website in order to solicit products or services, unless otherwise permitted by collarme.com.

In my profile I have two things that could possibly, perhaps, maaaaaybe breach this. But again it is a grey area. The first being, in my profile I mention that I am part of a band and write the name of it. There is no links, no advertisement or anything asking people to purchase any songs, albums, merchandise or anything of the sort, such things can't even by found on the internet. This it the entire part of my profile that mentions it:

I'm also the vocalist of a band called "The Sky Will Fall", you won't have heard any of my music, trust me.

Is this - in your opinion - a breach of the ToS?

The second possible perhaps maybe thing that could breach it is where I mention the video game I'm currently indulged with, again nothing further than just the name, this is the entire part of the profile:

I'm an avid gamer and have been since I was a little girl, nowadays I stick to the single player RPG genre with the occasional FPS thrown in the mix.

Currently playing through: XCom - Enemy Unknown

Again, have I broken any rules here?

- Edit, just to clarify. I haven't been contacted with it being in the breach of the rules, or trying to receive any kind of public backing for it not to be classed as an offence, I'm merely curious as to whether or not it classes as rule breaking, as I personally have no clue.

Not to my knowledge. However, if you really want a definitive ruling, go back to the other side and contact support. But give them some time, free site, limited staff.

Nope. And truly, if it bothers them they would report your profile, rather than emailing you about it. If you're breaking TOS, you'll get email from the Admins and they're bordered in yellow, so you'll know when it's them.

It's just somebody trying to gain some superiority.

Thanks for the response, I've contacted support. But I'm not a very patient being, so figured I'd venture to the forums for a little insight.

If "she's" so worried about it, "she" can report it. I would block her and not give it a second thought, especially since you have contacted Support and thusly covered your ass.

While the things you mentioned in your post seem fine to me, the long lists of 'fakes' in your journal entries are considered blacklisting and will be pulled when they are reviewed by the mods or get enough reports - and now that you've posted this and will get more views, you're likely to get more reports.

Edit: I see that you deleted your blacklist as I was typing, so carry on.

Blocked her after a couple of messages, as it was making me raise my eyebrow a bit, due to the vulgarity.

Once I had such a question. I just sent it off to support who pretty much mocked me (in a good way *laughs*) for worrying too much. So if you're really unsure just ask the folks that make the rules.

I'm also the vocalist of a band called "The Sky Will Fall", you won't have heard any of my music, trust me.
I'm not a mod but that doesn't seem much like "advertising" to me. It seems like a disclosure of personal information which would be exactly what a profile is for. I'd be STUNNED if that was a problem. Frankly, I don't think you'd run afoul even if you gave a link to the band's website but I'm not a mod. I can only say that from my experience they weren't interested in obviously stupid stuff. Whatever that clause was meant to cover had nothing to do with me.

Currently playing through: XCom - Enemy Unknown
If I understand the reasoning correctly, simply mentioning something is considered "advertising" it? If that reasoning stands then the only legit profile would be blank.

Honestly I'd be stunned if anything you've mentioned gets a burr under anyone's saddle but in the end site support is the the ultimate arbiter.

OP, I see 2 possibilities.

1. You are a cute female and some horny net geek is trying to 'blackmail you' to show your girly bits on cam.
This scam is as common as fallen leaves in autumn.

2. I perused your whole profile. Your journals point out some folks that you refer to in a negative way. Unfortunately, this is referred to as 'blacklisting' and is a TOS violation. If you zap that one long journal entry, you should be golden.

I realized it was a little childish of me, upon reflection. And amusingly, deleted it just before you posted on the forums! Brilliant timing is brilliant, didn't actually realize it was an offence so thanks for the warning anyway.

I don't think the online gaming bit is anything to worry about - you could be any one of hundreds or thousands online at any one time.

The other bit about being the vocalist in a certain band would put a finger firmly on you personally.
That bit could be in violation of ToS as the band shows up on Google (1316 views).

Either way, I don't think that sort of detail is required in a public profile.
By all means mention that you are an avid online gamer and vocalist in A band - I just don't think you need to name either.

Well, I am gonna tell you, that yes, you are in violation, unless you show me your tits, which is eventully where this guy is wanting to bully you to.

Other than that, fuck em.   come out here more, and you shoulda come out here sooner.

Welcome.   Don't let the dipshits get you down.

What I think the site is trying to convey there is that they don't want you posting personally identifiable information because some shitwad there (whom you are likely to hook up with) will upon fucking you a couple times, create a profile with all your personally identifying information to make your life miserable cuz you wont give him pussy anymore cuz hes an ass.

Look at some of the 'famous' out here, John Warren, Mick Luvbight and so on, and some pros and events post stuff like that and some personal info (cuz they know what they are doing and dont give a fuck if you out them or not).

Ron Melby (personally identifying to some degree, and I own the one and only pawnshop in Perham, MN (US)) and I don't give a fuck if you out me.

I think that you are in good shape, now show me you boobs, and since I gave such a long answer, I will probably have to check out your ass as well (arse for you).

LOL.

None of the things on Google are to do with my band, just things that share the same, or similar name. None of our (few) songs are anywhere but a flashdrive in a drawer. Could it still be a problem?

Tits will be provided in due course, please provide your home address, telephone number, date of birth, mothers maiden name, and credit card details. I need them for er, science!

Bullshit. Posting her band name is not a TOS violation, no matter if it had a zillion hits on Google.

Rose, since pulling that journal entry, I seriously doubt you'll have any problem from the site about your profile. Ignore the idiots and have fun.

Welcome to the forums, Rose.

I vote we keep her, she's cute and smart and can give it back to Ron !!

As for your question, all new females get messaged by creeps, the number of messages will go down in a few weeks once you don't show up on the system as new. Not sure how long that takes 2-3 weeks maybe?

You will still get stunningly strange stuff. Block and delete are your very good friends.

Though I'm new to the forums, I've been on CollarMe since May 2012, so that's.. Sort of new, but not new new.. new. This was just the first time I've had a message like this, and figured it best to check.

Notice I didn't say it IS a violation, just that it could be construed as one.

In the end it's her profile and she takes those chances.
Personally, I wouldn't put anything on a public profile that could even remotely point to me or single me out in any way.

Edit to say: to the CM boards!

*laughs* Reason enough right there.

OP... just so you know it's probably good you asked. The mod penalties for this sort of thing can get pretty steep. For my own sins they pulled my True Dom card leaving me as one of the hopeless fakes on this site :)

Nuh-uh Jeff, you're not a fake. It's much worse. You're a snuggly-cupcake-bunnyfluff-dom.
