Now we're hearing the truth about what's happening in our detention camps for unidentifiable illegals entering the country in leaky boats.
If they're unhappy about the length of time it takes to resolve their cases, our homegrown 5th column of wheedling shysters and human rights advocates are intimidating the inhabitants to stir trouble, even encouraging people to self-harm:-

When did emotional blackmail become an honest position of rights?

Australia. hmmm. Kinda interesting to see what happens in other countries. You probably should have posted this in politics though.

Asylum seekers are now illegals too? Now I have to better make sure, that I never will be re-born in a country with poor human rights.

Amnesty International has found a toxic mix of uncertainty, unlawful detention and inhumane conditions creating an increasingly volatile situation on Nauru, with the Australian Government spectacularly failing in its duty of care to asylum seekers.

Following a three-day inspection of the facility, Amnesty International researchers found the facility totally inappropriate and ill-equipped, with 387 men cramped into 5 rows of leaking tents, suffering from physical and mental ailments-creating a climate of anguish as the repressively hot monsoon season begins.

Sounds like its a cess poll.

When you have no proof of your status as for consensually destroying your documentation or giving away your passport/ID for money, why should you be considered?

Therefore, they are nothing but ILLEGALS.

If you don't want to be honest with the country that you want to be in, don't expect everything to be handed to you on a silver platter.

Any person as a legit aussie citizen isn't allowed social society, drivers license, and the simple premise of BEING A CITIZEN without documentation. So why should there be a double standard? Why should boat people get to slip by all what we have to go through to get what we want?

Fair game, equal standards. If you haven't got the ID, YOU GET NOTHING!

Sounds like you are tarring them all with the same brush.
Documents or not they are still asylum seekers until proven otherwise. I'm not sure where you are getting your information from but its incorrect.

There are many incidents where people have escaped their country by slipping over a border or laying low on a container ship. When they get to another country they put their hands up and claim political asylum. Not everyone has a passport or can get one. Many women in the middle east can not get a passport without their husbands or fathers permission.
So long as they give themselves up when entering another country and so long as they claim political asylum, then they are political asylum seekers and not criminals until proven otherwise.
