All are ingredients of Make up;
* Beeswax (contained in lipsticks and candles)
* Lanolin (a grease derived from wool)
* Shellac (crushed insects used in nail varnish)
* Civet (from anal pouch of civet cat)
* Musk (from male musk deer)
* Castoreum (anal sex gland of the beaver)
* Ambergris (whale excretion used in perfumes)
* Chitin (from insects and crustacea)
* Keratin (protein from hair, horn, hoof and feathers used in shampoos, conditioners and skin care products)
* Tallow (hard animal fat commonly used in soaps)
* Gelatine (from animal bones, skin and hide)
* Elastin (from meat)
* Squalene (from liver of shark)
* Urea (waste nitrogen)
* Honey (bee food)
* Propolis (bee glue used in the general production of toiletries and cosmetics)

Interviews, naturally.

Status: offline 		And this is one of the many reasons why it is important to support companies who make cruelty free cosmetics. I mean seriously, if it isn't bad enough that animals are harmed to gain those ingredients or get tested on... but you want to put that on your face?!

My own feeling is that I'd much rather stuff was tested before being released into the commercial wild, and I much prefer it being tested on animals than on (say) children or pensioners.
(I have a real problem with people insisting that all animal testing is immoral and shouldn't be allowed as they tend not to distinguish between the frivolous -like beauty products- and the fucking essential -like medical research-. Given that I'm only alive at my age as a result of the fact that I'm injecting myself with something that used to be made from pigs and was tested with a variety of inhumane experiments on dogs, I tend to take a dim view of these arguments, I'm afraid.)
