I noted the same deficiencies in the study and am planning on supplementing the results with some additional research myself as soon as I find my favorite porn video.

The issue I have with this article is that it seems to quote the abstract without reading the entire study. If anyone manages to find the study in its entirety, please share.

Full paper (click "view full text"). Incidentally, if any of you ever want to view a full article and you don't have access to online journals, try Google Scholar. You can't find everything through GS, but you can find a lot.

The only factor I think they left out that should have been included as it is very important in this case... cosmetic surgery, I would like to know the percentage of the "porn stars" that had surgery compared to the comparison group... I mean if most of the stars had surgery then that would negate the claim of "higher self-esteem" compared to the "average" woman... just saying.

I disagree that cosmetic surgery for porn stars is a sign of low self esteem. I see a boob job as part of the uniform.
