I may be hallucinating but I have just seen an advert for Led Zeppelin's O2 gig on CD/DVD etc.
How bloody cool is that?
Finally I ge t to hear what the bootleg hinted at. They sounded like the opening barrage on the first day of the Somme.

It'd be cooler if Plant was willing to do a new album.

He's done a lot of new albums of late. The one with Alison Krauss is a cracker.

You probably did. I've seen the ads too.
If you're into it, there's a ton of Zep boots out there, some of em quite good(Some are also bloody awful. Not just sound quality, but some nights the band was bloody awful-way to much booze and drugs). Try hitting up eztree to trade or dimeadozen or tradersden or bootleg archive for torrents

Yes, that was good, but I want Zeppelin.

I also want Guns n Roses and Pink Floyd back together, to go with my recently reformed Black Sabbath and Soundgarden.

Sadly my desire for a return by the Ramones will not be happenning due to all apart from Johnny being dead!

I only got into zeppelin a few years ago but I'd love to see them play. They are my number 2 band of all time. And I don't listen to bands that much.

I don't think you're hallucinating, to my knowledge Led Zeppelin are still active. I've seen some clips of TV and stage performances by them, both one at the time and as a group, over the past 10 years. I was somewhat surprised too, when I saw Plant performing the song of a new single some years back (don't hang me up on it, but I think it was sometime in the period between years 2004 - 2006).

I tend to prefer studio recordings unless I was at the concert. But things change, and so do the range of music that I enjoy. So I think I'll check this out - maybe somebody has uploaded a Youtube video from the concert, or from the CD/DVD.

Given that the keyboards player is dead and David Gilmour pretty much guaranteed that there's no way in Hell Roger Waters will ever work with him again after Live 8, the Floyd is probably not going to happen.
There is Velvet Revolver, though, who are pretty much Guns & Roses without the shrieking twat in a kilt on vocals...

Moonhead, axl is twatty, but a talented song writer; what him and slash did together was greater than anything they've done apart.

I got the CD/DVD set for the Mister for Christmas. He's gonna love it.

I saw a Robert Plant solo tour many years ago and it was awesome.

I agree about Pink Floyd - one of my all time, favorite bands! I saw them together years ago but it was an outdoor show and really raining hard, so I was pretty miserable. I did see David Gilmour on a solo tour, which was amazing, and earlier this year I saw Roger Waters do The Wall and omg, left me speechless.

You see, I'm not very convinced by the songwriter excuse, as everything else Guns & Roses did after half of the original lineup left or was fired between Appetite... and Use... is drivel. (In the case of the syrupy overblown ballads with stupid videos, not even good drivel.)
And even if we're having the first album as pretty good (which it is, even if the lead singer makes Brian Johnson sound like Lemmy), it's still pretty much a Hanoi Rocks tribute band, isn't it?

Saw Zep at both Knebworth gigs & thought them shit. Went to see the Plant & Page reunion tours & they were a thing of beauty.
