All these threads. All this anti-liberty rhetoric (which is what it really is). I have never seen the Left so out of sync to the ebb and flows of historical precedence. It's bordering on the vulgar. The Left is so misunderstanding what it is to be American, preferring the concept of Democracy and some Government fostered social utopia based on a skewed sense of fairness and equalitarianism. It's so incredible seeing the Left proclaim that America is one nation, indivisible, a shining example of democracy. It's abhorrent watching the Left lay claim to being that which is American. The reality of any secession is so American. It's the right of people seeking self determination who see shackles where liberty should stand.

The next iteration shall happen. The American cycle is ending. The melting pot myth is becoming clear. The Left neither sees nor understands this.

Anti-liberty? Good fucking god. Its against whining like grandpa after you took the rest of the tapioca pudding. Leave if you want to leave just quit whining about it.

Oh and pay the bill before you leave and ship all of the armaments we paid for back to us...or else.

A few cocksuckers, wanting to stomp off crying cuz they lost......is a poor reflection on the sore losers......NOT America.

Well now it seems Austin wants to secede from Texas and remain with the Union... I have decided to take this to its ultimate absurdity, and secede from myself!

Still showing your sense of injustice at losing a democratic election I see.

The US offered this week to remove Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terror as early as the middle of next year if Sudan agrees to let South Sudan secede in a referendum in January.

That's funny as hell. Nov 11, 2010.

Maybe it DID make the posts TWO YEARS AGO. Has anyone checked? [sm=rofl.gif]

Of course, the petitions are little more than symbolic—and nothing new. Similar petitions were filed after the 2004 and 2008 elections. And at least one petition filed on the site asks that the president sign an executive order to strip U.S. citizenship from anyone who signed a petition to secede and requests that they are "peacefully deported."

until folks start marching on washington about this, i'm not inclined to take it very seriously.

Agreed.

Back when, the South did not march on Washington. You have it backwards.

That's because travel for large groups was prohibitively expensive in those days. Ft. Sumter was closer to hand.

You're so right about that.

quote:

It's the right of people seeking self determination who see shackles where liberty should stand.

And so American, too, to see as 'shackles' what every other developed country, not to mention a goodly number of developing nations, see as 'the government's doing its job of looking out for the welfare of society.' There was even something in the preamble of the US constitution about that.

The next iteration shall happen. The American cycle is ending.

No question of that, if the sentiments above maintain.

Europe and Asia have now been 'inoculated' to life without US hyper-consumption as their economic sustenance, and to life without the US as international political broker (that being destroyed with the ME invasions).

The Rubicon was crossed some years ago, and the sentiments above, being widespread enough to do the job, had everything to do with it.

absolutchocolat -> RE: I'm surprised this hasn't made the posts.... (11/15/2012 3:50:39 PM)

i'm talking about all of the people today, signing online petitions and raging on forums about the unfairness of it all. i'm not impressed by click-and-send activism.
